The 2022 Nissan Leaf starts at $27,400. Unlike the Chevy Bolt, the Nissan Leaf is eligible for federal electric vehicle tax credits. The Nissan Leaf S’ price is closer to $19,900 after EV tax incentives. Very few electric vehicles have starting prices under $20,000.
The Nissan Leaf is more affordable than the Chevrolet Bolt electric hatchback because of tax incentives. It may not stay that way forever as the inventive is gradually phased out, but for now, it holds the crown. The Chevy Bolt’s starting price is $26,595.
According to Fueleconomy.gov, the Bolt electric vehicle is no longer eligible for the federal electric vehicle tax credit. The EV has been officially phased out of the government incentive.

GM intends for the 2023 Chevy Bolt to be the second coming of the electric vehicle. The $5,900 price reduction could mean a new beginning for the vehicle, depending on how consumers receive it.
According to Edmunds, the 2022 Chevy Bolt has 259 miles of driving range. The Chevy Bolt EV’s range makes it a more practical electric car for the money than the Nissan Leaf. The real question is, will the new Bolt EV be reliable, or will its comeback go up in flames?
