One of the last vehicles to premiere for the 2022 model year is the Nissan Rogue Sport, and it brings a lot of features in a small package. That’s because the Rogue Sport is very similar to the Nissan Rogue, but the Sport is a smaller and more affordable option. Of course, Nissan has plenty of options available for the 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport. However, is it really worth the $30,000 price tag?

Is a fully loaded 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport worth the cost?

Since the Rogue Sport is a smaller version of the Rogue, it makes sense that it’ll be cheaper. According to Nissan, the standard trim of the Rogue Sport, the S trim, starts at about $24,260. For comparison, a standard Rogue will cost almost $28,000, which means buying the Rogue Sport instead will save customers about $4,000.

The middle trim Nissan offers on the Rogue Sport is the SV, which starts at $25,830. The top trim available is the SL, starting at about $28,890. That being said, while that’s the top trim on the Rogue Sport, it isn’t a fully-loaded version. The SL trim on the Rogue Sport still comes with a front-wheel-drive as standard, and upgrading to an all-wheel drive will bump the price tag to $30,390.

The features on the fully loaded Nissan Rogue Sport

Under the hood, the Rogue Sport is the same across all trim levels. Each Nissan comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 141 hp. Since a fully-loaded Rogue Sport has AWD, its fuel economy is a bit worse than on the other versions. However, it still gets 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on highways, for 27 mpg combined. This is a roughly one mpg difference compared to the FWD version. Depending on where you live, that 1 mpg difference can be worth it to get AWD capabilities.

Where the SL trim shines is in its interior. It has leather upholstery on its seats, making it a much more comfortable ride than usual. Plus, its steering wheel, driver front seats and passenger seats are heated. In terms of tech, Nissan gave the SL trim an extensive suite of additional features, and these are on top of the many tech features the standard Rogue Sport already has. 

The fully-loaded Rogue Sport has smart safety features such as rear automatic braking, traffic sign recognition, and 360-degree camera. This version of the Rogue Sport can get over-the-air updates and rear parking sensors. Furthermore, a fully-loaded Rogue Sport has access to Nissan ProPilot Assist, which is Nissan’s semi-autonomous self-driving feature. If these features are of interest to you, it would be worth it to make the jump to the more expensive trim.

A look at the other options and accessories that are available

Folks who want even more from their Nissan have multiple options to choose from. The most significant upgrade is the Premium Package, which costs $2,280 and adds a few extra premium features to the Rogue Sport. This package will include a powered moonroof, a premium stereo system, fog lights, and more.

Other major options that Nissan offers include aluminum alloy wheels. Those will cost about $1,040. For $355, Nissan will add rail crossbars to the Rogue Sport’s roof. On the inside, customers can get a virtual key for their new Nissan for just $450. Folks who have children may also want to consider Nissan’s $80 option, which will add two rapid USB charging ports to the rear seats.

The Nissan Rogue Sport is a great option for those that don’t need something as large as the Rogue. Considering what you get for the price, it is a great deal for what you get as long as the upgrades are something on your must have or want list. If nothing else it is worth considering.
