What is the 2022 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Firefighter Edition?
The 2022 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Firefighter Edition emulates the Big Horn trim, offering the same interior tech and powertrain options. According to Ram, the standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 producing 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque.
A 260-hp diesel V6 is optional, as is a 395-hp V8. The V8 can also pair with a mild-hybrid system providing more torque and better gas mileage. Each Built to Serve model also includes the 4×4 Off-Road Group package.
However, new exterior and interior design elements make this truck special. Buyers can choose between Redline (deep red) and Diamond Black exterior body paint.
Black adorns the bumpers, grille, wheel flares, wheels, exhaust tips, and even the truck’s badges. In addition, each rear quarter panel bears an American flag decal.
Inside, riders get exclusive black sports seats with orange stitching. The seat inserts have an intricate orange-and-black mesh pattern reminiscent of burning embers.
Also, each seat has an American flag patch on the side. In the center of the front seats is a Ram Built to Serve patch. And Built to Serve badging adorns various areas throughout the interior, including the dashboard.
How much is the 2022 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Firefighter Edition?
The truck will go on sale this spring, and quantities will be limited. According to Muscle Cars and Trucks, the 2022 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Firefighter Edition will retail for $46,625. Expect to pay an extra $1,795 in destination fees.
However, first responders qualify for $500 in bonus cash for any lease or purchase of this truck. The discount is good at all Ram dealerships and works for almost every other model available. The only exceptions are the Ram 1500 TRX and both ProMaster trucks.
First responders must claim a unique authorization number on the Ram website to get the bonus cash. The truck maker also offers additional discounts, such as $500 for U.S. Military veterans. And anyone with a permanent disability qualifies for $1,000 back on any Ram truck purchase.
A look at the rest of the Built to Serve trucks
The Built to Serve lineup kicked off with Gator (green) and Diamond Black trucks to honor the U.S. Army, MotorTrend reports.
Next came Navy-inspired trucks in nautical colors of Patriot Blue and Ceramic Gray.
Then there were Built to Serve Marines trucks in Flame Red or Tank (green) paint, complemented by green interior stitching.
The Air Force Ram 1500 offered Anvil (gray) and Billet Silver body colors, much like a standard airplane.
Last, the Coast Guard Built to Serve truck came in Spitfire (orange) or Bright White.
These trucks are part of Ram’s effort to garner community volunteers that support military veterans and first responders in need. When you purchase one, you don’t just get a great truck. You also draw attention to a noble cause.
