The 2022 Ram 1500 Cut Crucial Features to Stay in Production
Oh no, the ongoing global semiconductor chip shortage has reached 2022 models. The 2022 Ram 1500 is being streamlined in order to stay in production. Basically, the Ram 1500 is facing significant cuts to remain on the lots.
The 2022 Ram 1500 is making crucial cuts
The 2022 Ram 1500 is the most popular truck that Stellnatis has to offer. So to stay in production and avoid delays, Ram 1500 models are receiving significant adjustments to continue being delivered to starving dealerships.
To keep Ram trucks moving, the complexity of the lineup is being reduced. All Ram 1500 Quad Cab configurations are being dropped for the Laramie and Rebel trims for 2022. The Tradesman and Big Horn/Lone Star trim will still have the Quad Cab configuration.
Also, the Quad Cab or Big Horn model will be missing some tech features. They won’t have any sunroof options, air suspension, power running boards, or the technology group options for 2022.
More Ram 1500 model lineup changes
The 2022 Ram 1500 Tradesman is losing the multi-functional tailgate and the Ram box option. The optional air suspension was dropped too. Also, the Tradesman EcoDiesel is now limited to the HFE (High Fuel Efficiency) only.
The Ram 1500 Big Horn/Lone Star trims are losing the rear under-seat compartment storage as a stand-alone option. But it is included with the Level 1 and Level 2 Equipment Group. It also lost the multi-functional tailgate.
The North Edition will not return for 2022 and is being replaced by the BackCountry model. Plus, the Mountain Brown and Frost Beige interior colors will no longer be available for Big Horn/Lone Star models.
You can still get a 2022 Ram Rebel, but you can’t get it with the Rebel 12A package. It included luxury leather-trimmed bucket seats, Alpine nine-amplified speakers with a subwoofer, and the Uconnect 12-inch display with navigation.
The cloth/vinyl bucket seats are only available in black and red. You can only get luxury-trimmed bucket seats if you opt for the Rebel Night Edition package.
Even luxury Ram models are making sacrifices
With the 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie, the rear under-seat compartment storage feature is no longer a stand-alone option. But you can still get it with the Laramie Level 1 Equipment Group.
Two-Tone Paint has been totally dropped for the 2022 Laramie. Also, the Production Group has been dropped. The 22-inch Polish-Painted Wheels were replaced with 22-inch Black-Painted wheels too.
The Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn lost its Two-Tone Paint on all models except for the Ivory White models. The Production Group was dropped too. But the Longhorn Level 1 equipment group now includes a heads-up display and digital rearview mirror.
Even the Ram 1500 Limited is facing a few losses. The Production Group has been dropped, and the Advanced Safety Group is no longer available. Also, the Limited Level 1 equipment group now includes the heads-up display and digital rearview mirror.
Ram made this move to accommodate more buyers with Crew Cab options. This is the more popular size and will allow the 2022 Ram 1500 to remain in production. Orders that have already been placed will be updated to match the updated options.
