What safety features come with the 2022 Outback? 

The 2022 Subaru Outback comes standard with the Subaru EyeSight driver assist technology. It includes automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are optional with the Outback Premium trim and come standard with the Limited trim and above. 

The EyeSight system uses dual color cameras to scan the road for unanticipated dangers. It provides extra awareness so you can drive with additional peace of mind. 

Plus, the Subaru Outback comes with standard all-wheel drive and X-Mode for enhanced all-weather safety. With X-Mode, when sensors detect a loss of traction, power from the engine is redistributed to the wheels that have the most grip. 

The AWD system automatically adjusts several components to maximize traction and help you get out of sticky or slippery situations. With the single-mode X-Mode system, you get Snow/Dirt settings. By upgrading to the Dual-Mode X-Mode system, you get Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings. 

X-Mode activation cuts back on the immediate throttle response to prevent excessive wheel spin. More torque is released to maintain forward momentum, and the transmission is restricted to a low gear ratio. Plus, the limited-slip differential kicks in. 

In Deep Snow/Mud mode, the wheels keep spinning as extra wheel spin helps maintain forward momentum. X-Mode deactivated at speeds above 18 mph, so the use of the system is limited to low-speed situations such as climbing a steep grade or traveling on slippery surfaces with ice or snow.

Yes, the 2022 Subaru Outback is an excellent SUV to consider. It has a high roof strenght, is rated highly for child safety, and has excellent headlight visibility for traveling at night. Plus, it can tackle the wild with X-Mode! 

The 2022 Outback has an MSRP of $26,945. It comes with a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 182 8- and 176 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine for 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. 

When properly equipped, the Outback can tow up to 3,500 lbs. It gets an EPA-estimated 26 mpg in the city and up to 33 mpg on the highway. Plus, it has a spacious interior and plenty of tech.
