The 2022 Toyota Sienna Is Perfect for Family Road Trips
If you need a new ride for your family, then consider the 2022 Toyota Sienna. The new Toyota Sienna provides more comfort and convenience features than you know. Best of all, once you get back from your family vacation, it also serves as an excellent daily driver.
The 2022 Toyota Sienna is the best road trip option
Do you know what’s great for trips? Fuel efficiency. The 2022 Toyota Sienna gets an EPA-estimated 36 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. These numbers track if you use the Eco driving mode. However, in Sport Mode, I was getting 32 mpg.
The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a pair of electric motors generate 243 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. According to Car and Driver, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.7 seconds. Plus, the Sienna can be equipped with all-wheel drive.
This van feels sporty and has no trouble merging onto the highway or passing people. The steering is light, making the Sienna easy to maneuver in tight areas. Plus, the steering has a nice, relaxing weight for longer drives. The brakes can be a little grabby, but it doesn’t take long to master smooth complete stops.
The Sienna has excellent tech
The 2022 Toyota Sienna provides excellent tech for safe, comfortable, and convenient drives. The adaptive cruise control keeps a nice distance from other vehicles as it automatically adjusts your speed and comes to complete stops.
You can opt for a wireless phone charger, and the 9.0-inch touchscreen will easily connect to your phone for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. Each row had plenty of USB and USB-C ports to keep everyone’s devices charged. Also, there are 120-volt household outlets.
You can turn off the optional 11.6-inch display that comes with wireless headphones with a button near the steering wheel. Imagine telling your kids to settle down, or you’ll turn off Peppa Pig, Bluey, Paw Patrol, YouTube, or whatever they’re into. Plus, there’s a pop-out mirror in front of the sunroof that provides a view of the rear seats.
The power liftgate and back doors are motion activated. You can open them with a wave of your foot. Also, the liftgate and doors can be controlled from the front seat and keys.
It was nice pulling up to the airport and opening the doors for my passengers to climb in. Then I closed the doors for them and got out of the way. Picking people up at the Charlotte airport can be stressful as workers blow their whistles and constantly tell you that you can’t park in the arrivals lane.
The 360-degree camera displays your surroundings, and the parking sensors clearly indicate how close you can get to obstacles, making it extremely agile. However, the Toyota Sienna does beep pretty loudly when an object or person is detected. It can be a little jarring.
The Sienna is spacious
Another significant aspect of the 2022 Toyota Sienna is how much space it provides in each row. My passengers from the airport quickly placed their suitcases behind them as they took to the captain’s chairs in the second row.
There wasn’t any need for people to climb over seats or move a seat forward to access the third row. You can just throw everything in and go.
Under the center console, there is a huge open space that I enjoyed storing my bags and jackets in. The center console is deep and wide. You can store a ton of items in it. Storage bins in the rear are spacious too.
Behind the third-row seats, there is a deep well for cargo storage, and the setbacks have hooks for hanging items. You can access 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and up to 101 cubic feet total.
Overall the Toyota Sienna is fun, spacious, and easy. It has the tools to keep the entire family happy and comfortable.
