The 2022 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition Is the Best New Truck Hitting the Market
The 2022 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition is one of the more anticipated Toyota trucks hitting the market next year. What makes it such a good buy? Toyota put a lot of thought into the Trail Edition, and buyers are taking notice. What’s new on this Toyota truck? Just about everything.
What is the new with the 2022 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition?
As Toyota said in the press release, “Modern times require modern vehicles and, arguably, one theme rises above the rest for vehicle attributes: versatility.” The Trail Edition is doing just that. The Toyota Tacoma is one of the best-selling trucks on the market for 16 years now, and for good reason. The Trail Edition is new as of 2021, but it is already improving in its second year.
Some of the new features in the Tacoma Trail Edition are the lifted front and back, plus a new locking rear differential. Toyota raised the front of the Tacoma 1.1 inches with coil springs and removed the front air dam to further improve clearance. The approach angle is increased to 34 degrees with those improvements. With the half-inch lift in the rear, the departure angle is improved to 23.6 degrees. The breakover angle is also improved to 26.4 degrees. In addition to that, the Trail Edition offers the same skid plates as the TRD Off-Road. Not bad, Toyota
The 2022 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition is ready for adventure, on and off-road
While everyone else is fighting over the Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro in Lunar Rock, make your way to the Tacoma. You can get it in Lunar Rock and it is far more capable for off-road fun. Automoblog reports there are other colors, too. These include Super White, Army Green, and Midnight Black Metallic. Plus, new bronze wheels add half an inch to the Tacoma for a wider stance. The 2022 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition comes with a 3.5L V6 with 278 hp in either an automatic or manual option.
The optional Tow Package also comes with the V6, but some extras. These include a Class IV tow hitch, engine oil cooler, transmission fluid cooler, and a power steering cooler. Plus, it comes with a 130 amp alternator, seven pin-connector, and trailer sway control to help tow 6,400 pounds. A 120-volt power outlet is also included to keep your stuff charged off the road.
A new truck that you can actually get dirty
Toyota offers a pretty good warranty, too. The Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition comes with a three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. The powertrain warranty is five years, 60,000-miles. Toyota also offers an extended warranty, which might be a good idea. Toyota hasn’t released the official pricing, but it is probably around $40,000. Based on the current lineup, it should fall just under the TRD Pro trim.
While the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is the top-of-the-line option, not everyone wants that for off-roading fun. The 2022 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition is the best of both worlds.
