What is the Tundra TRD Pro package?

The new Tundra TRD Pro package is the off-road-ready version of the 2023 Tundra. It’s a lot more than just TRD graphics on the bed. You can easily spot a TRD Pro thanks to its substantial 1.1-inch lift thanks to FOX brand internal-bypass off-road shocks instead of the Bilsteins other off-road Tundras get. The TRD Pro also gets Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Select to help control wheel spin and the magic low-speed CRAWL Control cruise control.

TRD Pro also gets a front stabilizer bar, red-painted suspension parts, a TRD aluminum front skid plate, and other cladding, as well as all-terrain Falken tires. The TRD Pro also has a trail cam that shows obstacles you can’t see from the driver’s seat, accessible from the 12.3-inch display.

What’s the ZR2 package for the Silverado?

The 2022 Silverado ZR2 is Chevy’s flagship off-road truck. We’re not going to get into the magic that GM uses for its Multimatic shocks, but they use the same technology that Corvettes do. The shocks adapt so you can romp off-road or do a smooth road trip, even loaded down. The Chevy also offers front-and-rear e-lockers that should allow it to get out of almost any sticky situation.

The 2022 Silverado ZR2 also gets standard a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 and a 10-speed automatic. The ZR2 has a max payload of 1,440 pounds and can tow 8.900-pounds. It’s expected to see 14 mpg in town and 17 mpg on the highway. The 2022 Tundra TRD Pro uses a hybrid system in its new Tundra paired with a V6 that makes 437 horsepower. It can tow 11,175 pounds. The Tundra is expected to get 19 mpg in the city, and 22 on the highway, with the hybrid.

How much do the 2022 Toyota TRD Pro vs Chevy Silverado ZR2 packages cost?

The TRD Pro starts at $67,505. The truck has most options, so the only add-ons are generally limited to cosmetic and security items, like a security safe and a bed extender. The Silverado 1500 ZR2 starts at $70,195. Again, the ZR2 is an all-inclusive package and most of the options are in cargo management, stereo enhancements, and lighting.
