With the 2022 Volvo XC60 Recharge, drivers can also benefit from one-pedal driving when using the all-electric mode. Better yet, the electric ability also helps to reduce tailpipe emissions.

Like most XC60 models, the XC60 Recharge is a good SUV, although it is not cheap. This Volvo SUV has the ability to generate up to 455 hp and has a decent electric range. In terms of performance, the XC60 Recharge utilizes active chassis with air suspension. This feature adjusts the height of your SUV to help increase performance and efficiency. It can also increase ground clearance for handling some rugged terrain.

Much like other Volvo models, this SUV is also committed to safety. According to Car and Driver, a range of standard and active safety tech will increase driver and passenger confidence. And that is something that is likely to be appreciated.

What does Recharge mean on Volvo?

The Recharge trim is offered to a Volvo to signal that it is a plug-in hybrid vehicle or PHEV. The name was first introduced in 2021, and Volvo has been expanding it since then. Now, models like the XC60 and XC90 can come as Recharge vehicles.

It is important not to confuse Recharge models with Volvo’s high-performance offerings from Polestar. Oftentimes, Polestar models will borrow from Recharge models. Like the Polestar 2 does with the Volvo XC40 Recharge. But, Polestar Volvos will be more expensive and have more power.

The XC60 is actually built in two different locations, these include Torslanda, Sweden, and Chengdu, China. Where a specific 2022 XC60 is built depends on its destination. Volvo has found quite a bit of success in the Chinese market. So, it makes sense that some models are built there.

If you find yourself interested in the PHEV Volvo SUV, finding the XC60 Recharge may be a difficult task. With current supply chain issues, dealerships are having trouble getting new inventory delivered. Especially when it comes to popular vehicles like this Volvo SUV. But, it is still worthy of consideration as a luxury hybrid.
