The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning just might be the best electric truck

Inside EVs says that the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is going to be an important electric truck. That’s because the Ford Lightning is as close to a regular pickup truck as any other electric truck out there, and it isn’t just any gas-powered truck. The traditional Ford F-150 is the best-selling truck in the United States. In fact, it’s the best-selling vehicle. So an electric version is sure to make its mark.

The 2022 Ford Maverick may not be fully electric, but its hybrid powertrain and small size are appealing. The Maverick has people who normally wouldn’t consider a pickup truck buying it up in huge numbers. It’s affordable, starting at just $21,000, and gets 42 mpg. It’s likely to continue to be a top seller in 2022.

The Chevy Silverado EV may pave the way for other electric pickups

Another electric pickup truck that may help convert truck lovers to electric vehicles is the Chevy Silverado EV. The Chevrolet Silverado EV will be part of Chevy’s GM’s Ultium battery pack fleet of vehicles. At first, the Chevy Silverado EV will be designed as work trucks, but it’s likely that higher trim levels will follow. The Silverado EV may have range up to 400 miles and should arrive on the electric vehicle scene in 2023 to 2024.

The 2022 Rivian R1T is changing the way people think about electric trucks

The 2022 Rivian R1T is unlike other electric pickup trucks on the market or in production. It’s got more style than traditional pickup trucks, which will separate it from the electric versions of regular trucks coming out in 2022. The R1T is also thought to be one of the best electric vehicles coming out, combining high-end design and features with function and range. It’s rugged, and can hold up to five passengers. It has a surprisingly powerful engine, too. The 2022 Rivian R1T engine can make up to 800 hp and 900 lb-ft of torque.

As you might imagine, the 2022 Rivian R1T is fast with an engine like that. It can go from 0 to 60 in just 3 seconds. It can even tow up to 11,000 pounds. Of course, a pickup truck like this doesn’t come cheaply. The 2022 Rivian R1T starts at $67,500.

The Tesla Cybertruck is bringing a whole new style

There’s no word yet on whether the Tesla Cybertruck will actually make its debut in 2022. It’s been delayed and pushed out several times, and the production date has been changed numerous times. So will we see the Cybertruck in 2022? No one really knows. However, the Tesla Cybertruck’s unique design has inspired other electric car manufacturers. Other unique trucks beginning production in 2022 or debuting a new design include the EdisonFuture EFT-1 and the Apple Car. There’s also a Thundertruck, which is currently a concept electric truck – but it would be pretty cool if it was actually built.

The best electric trucks may range in style and form, but one way that they’re the same is their versatility and appeal. With such a range of electric trucks coming out in 2022, it just might be the year of the electric pickup truck.
