After years of absence, the return of the Acura Integra is upon us. The automaker urges consumers to reserve their new Integra now. And thanks to advertising materials released in late 2021, shoppers might expect to find a bright-yellow 2023 Acura Integra color. But anyone looking for that paint job will likely be disappointed, at least for now.

Photos of the 2023 Acura Integra prototype revealed a bright-yellow car

In November 2021, Acura heralded the return of the Integra by releasing photos of a prototype. Many observers were surprised to see the car sporting a bright-yellow paint job reminiscent of early-2000s models and not typically found on today’s new vehicles. But even stranger, yellow isn’t an option for shoppers looking to reserve a 2023 Acura Integra.

Maybe the lack of a yellow option is a good thing. After all, as we observed recently, the 2023 Acura Integra “looks much better in darker colors as opposed to the bright yellow that it initially showed up in.”

As for why yellow is featured on the prototype but not on production models on Acura’s website, that’s anyone’s guess.

However, MotorTrend offers a few theories. “We may just be looking at partial information, and there could be more options at launch,” the auto magazine says, “or it’s plausible that Acura is holding back the yellow for an upcoming Integra Type S model that surely will follow the regular-grade version.”

What 2023 Acura Integra color combinations are available?

Though the bright yellow isn’t an option on the Integra as of this writing, Acura offers several exterior and interior color combinations.

Buyers who favor black can choose a Majestic Black Pearl exterior with an Ebony interior, giving the car a sleek, stealthy look.

Shoppers interested in a pop of color can opt for a Liquid Carbon Metallic (charcoal gray) or Platinum White Pearl exterior with a striking bright-red interior. (If history is any guide, we’re guessing the white body will be especially popular.)

Finally, those looking for a brighter exterior can pair Apex Blue Pearl (royal blue) with an Orchid (off-white) interior.

Overview of the new hatchback

Acura recently announced the 2023 Integra will hit showrooms this June. The company is taking reservations for the car on its website.

The standard five-door hatchback will start in the low to mid-$30,000 range. Also, it will pack a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine producing 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. And all three trims will come with an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters.

In addition, the interior will provide a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster and an eight-speaker premium sound system. It will also have USB charging capability and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.

As would be expected, higher trim levels offer additional benefits. For example, the A-Spec package provides a manual transmission. It also offers a sportier look and more attention to detail, including LED fog lights, black exterior trim, a rear lip spoiler, and other enhanced features. Similarly, the A-Spec interior comes with contrast red stitching, red gauge needles, and stainless-steel pedal covers.

Then there’s the Integra Technology package. It adds front and rear parking sensors, puddle lights, a low-speed automatic braking system, a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and other safety, comfort, and convenience features.

Although it remains to be seen whether yellow will return as a color option on the 2023 Acura Integra, the highly anticipated car will still offer many enticing features and options.
