It’s good news and bad news from Acura today. The bad news? You still can’t go to Acura’s site and configure your own Integra. The good news? The order books for the 2023 Acura Integra open in one month’s time. By then, we know we’re going to have pricing for the brand’s newest 2022 Honda Civic Si-based small sports car.

2023 Acura Integra orders open next month

Specifically, you can order your new Integra on March 10th. I guess that’s even better news because it’s less than one month from now. However, there is a bit of a catch. Acura says customers can “get on the list to be among the first to reserve a limited number of production units when the model goes on sale this spring.” To us, this sounds a lot more like getting on the list to be on the list for when the order books open.

Unfortunately, that’s about all the information provided in Acura’s press release. Whether that means you can really, truly order a 2023 Acura Integra on March 10th is a bit unclear. Frankly, I fail to see why you wouldn’t be able to. Unless Acura expects some kind of unprecedented Corvette Z06-level demand for this thing, you ought to be able to just walk right up and order one. The new Integra already has people upset and any hangups will certainly fuel that.

Should you buy an Integra?

So what if you do want to order a 2023 Acura Integra? Should you? Right now, hard facts are, well, hard to come by with the Integra. Given the model’s underpinnings, we know that the base model borrows heavily from the 2022 Honda Civic Si. When the Integra’s interior was spotted, the differences were obvious. A base ‘Teggy based on the Civic Si sounds pretty good to us. If a more upscale Civic Si is your jam, you ought to think about getting an order in.

As for future models, info there is even more scarce. If there’s going to be an Acura Integra Type R, it’ll likely be called the Acura Integra Type S. I’ve speculated it will have the motor from the Honda Civic Type R, but there’s nothing to confirm that just yet. Given how Civic-based the new model is, it’s looking pretty likely. If the Si’s 200 hp isn’t enough for you, it’s probably best to hold out.

When will there be an Integra Type S?

Generally speaking, because of the inevitable go-fast (or fast-er) Integra, maybe holding out is worth it. It’s often a good idea to wait to buy a brand new car. The Ford Bronco had its share of growing pains, didn’t it? Regardless, you’ll be able to get your hands on one this spring for “around $30,000” per Acura. We can’t wait to test both the Integra and the Civic Si side by side to see if the extra Acura badging is worth the cash.
