The 2023 Acura Integra is nothing short of controversial. Many Acura and Integra enthusiasts were disappointed with the design choice and lack of two-door availability. On the contrary, many critics have given high remarks for the Integra’s nimble handling and sporty feel that keep its legacy alive and well. No matter which side of the fence you stand on, the Integra is here. Even better, though, is the fact that it’s a bit spicier than Acura advertises. Who doesn’t love a little bonus power?

A dyno run shows the true power of the 2023 Integra!

According to Road and Track, Acura advertises that the new 2023 Integra comes with a baseline power output of 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. Certainly, that’s no slouch, even by modern standards. Coupled with an available manual transmission, it makes for a good spirited driving experience while retaining the luxurious upgraded feel of an Acura over a Honda. Thus, it does a good job at being what the Integra has always been; a more luxurious Civic.

However, some curious individuals over at the AHC Garage Youtube channel didn’t want to take those numbers for face value, according to R&T. To everyone’s surprise, though, the 2023 Acura Integra didn’t just meet the advertised power levels. It completely annihilated them!

Throughout the dyno testing, the 2023 Acura Integra power output consistently remained in the high 190 range. At its highest, the almighty Integra put down a whopping 199 wheel horsepower. It’s worth remembering that Acura’s advertised 200 horsepower is measured at the engine, not at the wheels. When considering power loss throughout the drivetrain components, that means the Integra is actually making around 220 horsepower at the crank. Who wouldn’t love a free extra 20 horsepower?

The real surprising 2023 Acura Integra power figure, though, is its torque output. Acura advertises the Teggy as coming with 192 pound-feet of torque at the crankshaft. So, considering drivetrain component loss, one would expect to see around 170 pound-feet of torque on the dyno. However, instead, the testing showed a peak torque output of 200 pound-feet at the wheels. That means, just like the horsepower figure, the Integra is making about 220 pound-feet of torque at the crank. That’s nearly 30 more than advertised!

The Integra has some serious potential

Even just considering the fact that the car has 20 more horsepower and 30 more pound-feet of torque than advertised is pretty impressive. However, just like with previous generations, it’s almost a guarantee that the new Integra is about to get an influx of performance aftermarket parts. After all, the same phenomenon happened with the FK8 Civic Type R and is currently happening with the 2022 and 2023 Honda Civic Si.

Of course, not everyone is looking to modify a brand new car. However, you can take solace in the fact that your car has a bit more horsepower than was advertised! Doesn’t that just sweeten the deal a bit?

So. if you’re looking for a luxurious car with some sporty street cred, the 2023 Integra is certainly worth considering. Plus, having the four-door layout just makes it easier for friends, family, and cargo to enjoy the ride alongside you.
