The 2023 Audi A3 remains near the front of the compact entry-level luxury sedan pack thanks to its capable handling, strong performance, and premium content. This competitive segment includes the new Acura Integra, BMW 2 Series, and Mercedes-Benz CLA. The A3 distinguishes itself from those competitors by providing Audi’s signature blend of style and technology in a small package. 

The interior of the Audi A3 is snug but comfortable and includes a large infotainment display and a long list of standard features. Power is supplied by a 201-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder to the front wheels, but Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive is optional on all trim levels. Those seeking more performance should check out the S3 and RS3, which offer sportscar-like performance in a small sedan body.   

Is there a new Audi A3 coming out?

Yes, a new Audi A3 is coming out. However, the 2023 Audi A3 is not available at this time. According to Audi’s website, several new A3 models are currently in transit and are expected to arrive at dealerships later this year. The good news is that you can sign up for updates on the 2023 Audi A3. Additionally, there is still plenty of 2022 A3 models on dealer lots.   

How much will the Audi A3 cost in 2023?

While the 2023 Audi A3 hasn’t arrived at dealerships just yet, Car and Driver reports that the luxury sedan will start at $35,995 for the Premium Package. This package includes a lively 2.0-liter turbocharged 201-horsepower 4-cylinder engine. 

The Premium Plus starts at $39,995 and includes passive keyless entry, driver memory seat and mirror settings, wireless smartphone charging pad, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. Audi discontinued the Prestige package for 2023. 

2023 Audi A3 specs, changes, and updates

The current generation Audi A3 debuted in 2022, and no significant changes are expected for 2023. Consumer Reports recommends the 2022 model, which scored the highest among entry-level luxury cars. Offering plenty of features, better-than-average reliability, and good performance, the A3 is one of the best cars in the small, entry-level luxury category.

Should you wait for the 2023 Audi A3 or order a 2022 model now? 

With the exception of dropping the Prestige package and some minor updates, the 2022 and 2023 Audi A3s are practically identical. In fact, either luxury sedan is an excellent choice offering quick performance and plenty of standard features for a reasonable price. 

On the negative side, we wish the Audi A3 came standard with Quattro all-wheel drive, which is a $2,000 option. Other drawbacks include some cheap interior bits from the VW parts bin and a cramped backseat.   

Regardless of which trim level you pick, we think the A3 offers plenty of value and performance in a great-looking package. Our recommendation is to go with the Premium Plus package, which offers the best mix of features at a base price under $40,000. However, the S3 is not that big of a stretch if you’re looking for more performance at $46,995.
