The new 2023 Audi Q5 and 2023 Q5 Sportback are currently available to build and order through Audi’s website, and we expect to see new models hit dealerships this fall.

The Audi Q5 for the U.S. market is built at the Audi plant in San José Chiapa, Mexico.

How much does the 2023 Audi Q5 cost?

The starting price of the 2023 Audi Q5 luxury crossover SUV is $43,500 MSRP for the standard model and $50,300 MSRP for the Sportback model.

The 2023 Q5 won’t cost much more than the 2022 Q5, which has a starting price of $43,200 MSRP.

On the performance front, the base-level turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder for the new 2023 Audi Q5 generates 201 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, while the available turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine produces 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Performance tuning gives the four-cylinder option more power and torque (261 hp/273 lb-ft) with only a minimal decrease to fuel economy estimates.

Also, the Q5 offers a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, which combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. It has a total system output of 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.

For acceleration, the gas-powered Q5 has a 0-60 mph time clocks as low as 5.5 seconds, while the Q5 PHEV completes the sprint in 4.5 seconds. On the towing front, when properly equipped, the Q5 can tow up to 4,400 pounds. Also, all Q5 models have a traction-enhancing all-wheel drive system.

For efficiency, the fully gas-powered Q5 base engine has an estimated gas mileage of up to 23 city/29 highway mpg. The sport tuned option reduces the highway mpg estimate to 28 mpg. The V-6 engine offers significantly more power, but reduces the fuel economy estimates to 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

Also, the Q5 PHEV has an estimated fuel economy of up to 61 combined MPGe in electric mode and 26 combined mpg in gas mode. 

What’s new for the 2023 Q5?

The 2023 Audi Q5 and 2023 Q5 Sportback are carryover models, and no major changes are expected for the new model year. However, across the Q5 trim lineup, Audi announced changes to the standard equipment packages. Adaptive cruise control is now standard and the Premium Plus trim level now feature an updated sound system. The Q5 55 gets new OLED taillights with design tweaks for the Prestige trim level’s Sport plus package. In addition, new color options are available. Chronos gray takes the place of Quantum gray offered on Q5 45, Q5 55, and SQ5 models.

Also, for warranty coverage, the 2023 Q5 has a 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty and a 4-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty. 

The new 2023 Audi Q5 and 2023 Q5 Sportback compact luxury crossover SUV have a slight price increase. However, considering inflation, the extra cost is marginal.
