The 2023 BMW iX M60 packs a punch

The 2023 BMW iX M60 is the most expensive version of the iX midsize luxury electric SUV. It starts at a whopping $105,100. Even after federal electric vehicle tax credits, the iX M60’s starting price is north of $97,000.

The iX M60 makes 610 horses using its dual-motor electric powertrain. It produces 811 lb-ft of torque. Now that’s a lot of torque. The electric SUV can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds.

The BMW iX M60 is extremely quick. It rivals powerful SUVs like the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat and Audi SQ8. It’s clear that the German automaker designed the iX M60 to compete with the SUV segment’s quickest electric vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles.

The iX M60 packs a punch. Its performance specs will intrigue many gearheads. The BMW i4 and iX electric vehicle nameplates are proving that EVs can be just as quick and comfy as their gas-powered ancestors. Welcome to a new era of BMW German engineering. The electric future is bright.

The BMW iX M60 may be the performance iX model, but that doesn’t take away anything from the more affordable iX xDrive50. You don’t need to purchase the most expensive iX trim to get lots of torque and adequate driving range. The iX XDrive50 has some impressive specs of its own.

The 2022 BMW iX xDrive50 starts at $83,200. It uses electric motors to produce 516 horsepower and 564 lb-ft of torque. The xDrive50 gets up to 315 miles of driving range. The current industry standard is between 200 and 250 miles of driving range.

The iX xDrive50 comes standard with perforated Sensatec upholstery, an upholstered instrument panel with stitching, and a floating center console. It also includes a tire pressure monitor, BMW Dynamic Cruise Control, and a multi-functional hexagonal steering wheel. The impressive electric SUV features a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a massive 14.9-inch central information display.

Is anyone actually buying the BMW iX?

Even the base model BMW iX is costly. According to Kelley Blue Book, the average luxury buyer paid $64,635 for a new vehicle in January of 2022. The iX costs nearly $20,000 more than what the average luxury buyer paid for a luxury automobile back in January.

The iX is designed for the select few who can afford it. InsideEVs claims that 347 iX models were sold in the first quarter of 2022. Some consumers are interested in the iX electric SUV, but it’s unlikely to compete with more affordable models like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Hyundai Ioniq 5. The iX M60 may not break any sales records for BMW because of its $105,000+ price tag, but its performance specs are tough to ignore.
