2023 Cadillac Escalade vs. BMW X7: Which Luxury SUV Has a Better Interior?
The 2023 Cadillac Escalade and the BMW X7 are two full-size luxury SUVs that come with great interiors, so it can be tough to choose between the two SUVs. Here’s a look inside the 2023 Cadillac Escalade and the BMX X7 and which luxury SUV has the better interior.
The standard features on the 2023 Cadillac Escalade and the BMW X7
According to U.S. News, the two full-size luxury SUVs are packed with standard features. One of the unique things about the Escalade’s interior is its screens, as there’s a total of 38 inches between three screens. The Caddy has a 16.9-inch touchscreen, a 7.2-inch digital control panel, and a 14.2-inch digital gauge cluster display.
The BMW, meanwhile, has some big screens too, but they’re more traditional in how they’re laid out. The X7 gets a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. In addition to those big screens, both luxury SUVs come with a heads-up display, keyless start, remote engine start, rain-sensing wipers, and more luxury features.
As for their seats, both luxury SUVs come with synthetic leather upholstery as standard. Both luxury SUVs also start with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, but there’s a difference in what else is heated.
The Escalade has heated second-row outboard seats, while the X7 has heated front armrests. Additionally, the Caddy’s driver seat can be cooled, but the X7’s can’t.
Here are the optional features that Cadillac and BMW offer on their luxury SUVs
Both automakers gave their luxury SUVs a lot of options, too. For example, Cadillac shoppers can equip their Escalade with a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference sound system, while X7 shoppers have a choice between an optional 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system or an optional 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
Escalade owners can equip their rear-seats with an infotainment system that includes two 12.6-inch touchscreens, and owners can even add a fridge to the center console. X7 owners, meanwhile, can add heated and cooled cup holders to their luxury SUV, as well as a five-zone automatic climate control system and gesture controls for the car’s infotainment system.
Both luxury SUVs also offer similar options. For example, seat massagers are options on both, as is adaptive cruise control.
Additionally, owners who want their luxury SUV to have real leather upholstery can get that option with both vehicles. Both automakers also offer heated rear seats to their cars, as well as bucket seats for owners who want to maximize comfort in the second row.
Why the 2023 Cadillac Escalade has the better interior overall
Overall, both luxury full-size SUVs have a lot to offer, but U.S. News has a clear winner. The car critic was very impressed by the Escalade’s interior, and as such, it gave the Caddy an 8.8 out of 10 for its interior.
In comparison, the X7 did well, but it only got a 7.7 out of 10 for its interior. The main reasons for that low score has to do with the cargo capacities of the two SUVs, as well as their infotainment features.
The Escalade has the better infotainment features, and it has a max cargo capacity of about 121 cu. ft. In comparison, the X7 only has a max cargo capacity of 90.4 cu. ft., which is below average for the segment.
As such, it’s not surprising that the Escalade has the slightly higher overall score at 8.5 out of 10 compared to the X7’s 8.3 out of 10.
