The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has no open recalls with the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA). Further, the 2023 model has zero investigations into bothersome faults. However, the latest Corvette model has seven NHTSA complaints, mostly pertaining to electrical system issues.
Additionally, the NHTSA and IIHS won’t evaluate the C8 Corvette model for its crashworthiness due to its vehicle type and exclusivity.

While the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has no open recalls or investigations, the C8 Corvette isn’t without its issues. Unfortunately, some owners have complained to the NHTSA about everything from electrical issues to transmission problems.

While these issues have the potential to be irritating, none of them have caused a recorded injury or fatality. Among the most bothersome, some early model C8s exhibited problems with the TREMEC TR-9080 dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

Unfortunately, the quick-shifting TREMEC TR-9080 DCT in the C8 Corvette might sometimes exhibit gasket failures and error messages. Furthermore, the DCT was the subject of a voluntary recall regarding a faulty transmission control module (TCM).
Additionally, many Corvette owners complain that the sole transmission option doesn’t replace the spiritual toll of a missing manual. That’s right; none of the C8 Chevrolet Corvettes pack a manual transmission, including the Stingray and Z06. Considering the eager seven-speed transmission in the now-discontinued seventh-generation model, it’s a shame.
What is the problem with the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06?
The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 took the nameplate into the stratosphere with the model’s first Ferrari-esque flat-plane crank V8. However, the Z06’s 5.5L LT6 V8 has a problem prompting owner complaints: an irritating tapping or ticking sound from the model’s revolutionary valvetrain.
General Motors says the ticking noises in the LT6 are typical for the model’s valvetrain. However, excessive ticking or tapping could result from camshaft caps being out of alignment, per GM Authority.
