The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is all-new, meaning it has been completely redesigned. As a mid-size truck, it looks like it’s going to bring a lot to the table. From offering up to 430 pound-foot of torque to the ability to tow up to 7,700 lbs. Plus, the new Colorado looks aggressive, and that will likely make it popular among mid-size pickup enthusiasts. So, what’s the deal with the 2023 Chevy Colorado?

The Chevy Colorado is all-new

With an estimated starting cost of under $30,000, the 2023 Colorado is Chevy’s new pickup. It has a redesigned body, an updated powertrain, and the interior appears a lot nicer than the previous generation. Unfortunately, it will only be offered with a short bed and in crew cab truck configuration. Which might not be ideal for some people.

In terms of what’s under the hood, each 2023 Colorado will feature a 2.7-liter engine. Depending on the trim, the engine will offer different amounts of power. The standard power output is 237 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, but the numbers go much higher than that. When properly equipped, the 2023 Chevy Colorado will make 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Which is some legitimate performance.

Is the 2023 Chevy Colorado safe?

When it comes to safety, trucks have come quite a long way. The 2023 Colorado will offer standard lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist. It will also boast forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Buyers can also opt for adaptive cruise control and blind-spot steering assist.

In the past, pickup trucks were bare-bones work vehicles. But that is no longer the case. And the 2023 Colorado is a reflection of that. Families now opt to make mid-size trucks their mode of transportation. That means more safety equipment is an expectation.

Will the new Colorado be an off-road truck?

If you want a mid-size truck, you might want something that can handle off-road use, and the Chevy Colorado can. According to Car and Driver, the 2023 Colorado ZR2 will feature power-locking front and rear differentials. Plus, you get the 310-hp engine.

Other off-road features include available four-wheel drive. Plus, Chevy’s mid-size truck still utilizes a solid rear axle. And that will likely be a perk for those who want an off-road pickup.

Can you buy a 2023 Chevy Colorado?

The new Colorado has been announced, but it is not yet available for order. Because of that, if you are interested in this pickup, you should let Chevy know. You can sign up for updates on the Chevy website. That way, you are in the loop on when you can actually place an order.

The Colorado is finally entering its third generation. And on paper, it does look pretty great. It would not be surprising to see this pickup truck grow in popularity. Especially because the second-gen was around for seven years, making it feel pretty dated. The new generation is sure to put other mid-size trucks like the Toyota Tacoma and Honda Ridgeline on notice.
