The 2023 Chevy Colorado WT Is a Work Truck Bargain
The Chevrolet Colorado is new, improved, and ready to work. There are a few standard features that should make fleets pretty happy. While trucks are getting more expensive, at least the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT is loaded with standard features to boost its value.
What comes standard with the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT?
The 2023 Chevy Colorado WT starts the work truck party with the standard low-output turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with 237 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque. This is more powerful than the standard Ford Ranger, and Toyota Tacoma engines have.
With this engine, the Colorado can tow up to 3,500 lbs. You can upgrade to the high-output engine for 310 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. This engine allows the Colorado to tow up to 7,700 lbs. Also, RWD is standard, but 4WD is available.
The interior has cloth upholstery, manual seats, an 11.3-inch infotainment screen, an 8.0-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, push-button start, two USB ports, and under-seat storage. The Ford ranger starts with a simple LCD radio screen.
Exterior features include 17-inch steel painted wheels and all-season tires. Black cladding covers the front facia, bumpers, door handles, and side mirrors.
The front bumper has tow hooks too. There are eight-bed tie-downs, trail hitch assistant guidelines, and a corner bumper step.
The halogen headlights are basic, but the advantage safety features consist of automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, automatic headlights, and lane-keeping assistance.
How much does the 2023 Colorado WT cost?
The 2023 Chevy Colorado WT price starts at $29,200. This is the MRSP, so it doesn’t include the $1,495 destination fee or dealership markups. Also, we understand that it sounds expensive for a basic work truck.
But the Ford Ranger CrewCab also starts at $29,585. The Colorado was recently remodeled and provides more standard features and advanced tech. Plus, the Colorado has more standard safety features.
Upgrading to the Colorado LT doesn’t offer many advantages. It starts at $31,600 and adds a leatherette-covered steering wheel, 17-inch wheels, and a locking tailgate. It has body-colored bumpers and door handles.
It opens the door to a few more options, though. It can be paired with 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, and the premium Bose audio system.
Is the Colorado Trail Boss affordable?
The 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss is the most affordable off-roading-oriented model in the lineup. It starts at about $37,000, which is quite the price jump. On a positive note, it has the high output engine and standard 4×4.
It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 32-inch all-terrain tires ad has a limited-slip rear differential. Its track is wider by two inches, and it has a 2.0-inch suspension lift. You can access downhill descent control and extra off-roading modes.
But it pretty much has the same interior as the Work Truck model. The extra fees go to the mechanical upgrades. While the Trail Boss might not be the best deal, the Colorado WT is a bargain. It has more to offer fleets and workers than similarly priced rivals.
