It’s old news by now: Stellantis will discontinue the venerable Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans after the 2023 model year. However, the Mopar marques aren’t one to thunder off into the distance and not celebrate their flagship cars. Still, even with Chrysler’s V8-powered celebration model, the 300C, the Charger manages to outshine the posher 300 with volcanic power, outrageous dimensions, and much more variety.

What’s so special about the 2023 Dodge Charger?

The 2023 Dodge Charger is the sedan’s swan song model after the better part of 20 years of continuous production. However, the Charger isn’t going quietly; Dodge released three “Last Call” Chargers: the Super Bee, the Swinger, and the supercharged King Daytona.

As a result, the 2023 Charger marks a bittersweet send-off for the iconic nameplate. Conversely, the Chrysler 300, the Charger’s closest sibling, gets just one limited-edition celebration model. Lovingly named the 300C, the send-off model packs the R/T Scat Pack’s 6.4L V8.

Consequently, fans won’t be able to get a supercharged 300 to ruffle their friends’ Hellcat-powered Chargers. With widebodies, supercharged engines, and a greater number of special edition models, the 2023 Dodge Charger is an all-around more unique last hurrah than the 2023 Chrysler 300.

How much horsepower does the 2023 Dodge Charger have?

The 2023 Dodge Charger produces anywhere from 292 horsepower to a stratospheric 807 ponies in the SRT Jailbreak and limited-edition SRT King Daytona models.

Of course, that’s on brand for the Charger and the culture surrounding it. Charger fans don’t take to the internet to inquire about carbon fiber tubs or walnut interior trim. No, dear reader, Mopar fans are more maniacal than meticulous.

As a result, every red-blooded driver with a 2023 Dodge Charger SRT King Daytona on their list to Santa Claus cares about one thing over all else: horsepower. Is it one-sided? Maybe. Is it fun? Absolutely.

Is the 2023 Chrysler 300C sold out?

Don’t think you can rush out a buy one; Chrysler sold every 300C in record time. That’s right, the brand sold all 2,000 units in just 12 hours, per Mopar Insiders. Unfortunately, the only way fans will get the 485-power special edition is to wait for a used one to go on sale.

Is there going to be a 2024 Dodge Charger?

While Dodge killed the lumpy, V6-and-V8-powered Chargers we’ve all grown accustomed to, the brand has other plans for the nameplate. The 2024 Dodge Charger could be a high-voltage electric vehicle (EV) based on the brand’s Daytona Charger SRT EV concept.

On the other hand, Chrysler hasn’t outlined any plans to revive the 300 nameplate yet. Keep up with MotorBiscuit for the latest muscle car content!
