2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat vs. 2022 Lamborghini Urus
The 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is coming. Stellantis calls the Durango SRT Hellcat the “most powerful SUV on the planet.” The Lamborghini Urus is easily one of the most notable SUV models in existence. How does the Durango SRT Hellcat compare to the Lamborghini Urus?
The 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is a powerhouse
The 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is the latest Durango Hellcat model since the 2021 model year. The Durango SRT Hellcat is more powerful than some of the most expensive SUVs in the industry.
The 2021 model year started at $82,490. Expect the 2023 model year to start at over $82,500. It uses a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 to make 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. The midsize SUV is expected to achieve close to 12 miles per gallon in the city and 17 miles per gallon on the highway.
Many believed that the Durango SRT Hellcat would die after just one model year. The midsize SUV has risen from the ashes after a short hiatus to challenge the most powerful vehicles in its class. It can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds. Car and Driver claims that it can do a quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds.
The 2023 Dodge Charger and Challenger are getting last call plaques because Stellantis aims to either electrify the nameplates or create something entirely new based on the muscle cars. This has caused many Durango fans to theorize that the 2023 Durango SRT Hellcat could be the last Durango Hellcat ever. The Hellcat engine is beloved by many automotive enthusiasts and gearheads, but it just doesn’t mesh with the industry’s push toward carbon emission reduction. A combined mpg rating under 15 miles per gallon doesn’t exactly scream eco-friendly.
The 2022 Lamborghini Urus changed the way drivers look at SUVs
SUVs are practical. The SUV vehicle segment is the most popular in America because SUVs are ideal for the needs of the average American family. Recently modern popular SUVs have focused more on fuel economy and providing value for their prices.
The Toyota RAV4 is the most popular SUV in the country because it provides great value for the money and has decent gas mileage. The introduction of the Lamborghini Urus challenged everything that consumers thought they knew about SUVs.
The Urus proved that SUVs can be practical, quick, and luxurious. It’s the family SUV for the world’s elite. The Lamborghini Urus has become the vehicle of choice for pro athletes and celebrities. Its arrival was shocking because it was the last thing that fans expected from a luxury automaker like Lamborghini.
