The 2023 Ford Bronco can be a fun SUV option car shoppers can buy, but Ford’s had some issues with the Bronco lately and should be aware of them. While many of those issues happen to the Bronco after people buy the car, a few of the issues are actually occurring when shoppers try to order a Bronco. Ford revived the Bronco in the 2021 model year, and like many brand-new cars, the Bronco’s had its share of problems. One of the more troubling issues is affecting one of the Bronco’s engines. Despite only logging a few thousand miles on the Bronco’s 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6, some owners report their Bronco is suffering from valvetrain failures. 

Earlier in the Bronco’s run, the Ford SUV had issues with its roof. Not only was the company that built those roofs unable to meet the demand for them, but owners who could get their hands on a Bronco encountered more issues with their car’s roof. Some owners claimed the headliner was peeling from the Bronco’s roof, and other owners simply didn’t like the finish Ford gave to the roof.

According to Ford Authority, the Bronco’s recently had a minor issue involving an ordering glitch. Car shoppers who wanted to add the Sasquatch Package to their Bronco discovered that the option to do that simply wasn’t there. This issue with the Sasquatch Package seems to be related to a different issue affecting the Bronco’s auxiliary switch.

As Ford Authority wrote, some Bronco shoppers have noticed their Bronco doesn’t come with an auxiliary switch even though it should. This issue is related to the Sasquatch Package issue because both issues occurred when Ford updated its web-based dealer ordering system for the 2023 model year. After the update happened, the Sasquatch Package option disappeared, and so did the auxiliary switches.

Auxiliary switches are features that allow owners to customize their car better, and these switches are standard features on many Bronco trims, including the Everglades, Heritage Limited, and the Bronco Raptor. Ford also offered them as an option on several trims, such as the Big Bend, Outer Banks, and the Heritage trim.

Ford is aware of this issue, and Ford has notified dealers about it as well. Shoppers who want their Bronco to have auxiliary switches should check and ensure that their order has them. 

The 2023 Ford Bronco is otherwise a great SUV

A standard Bronco will start at around $32,000, and it comes with a capable 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 300 hp. Since Ford wants owners to build the best Bronco for them, Ford offers many options. There are about 10 Bronco trims available, and they can cost upwards of $75,000 for the Raptor, which is the Bronco’s top trim. 

Ford currently offers one other engine option on the Bronco, and the other engine is the 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6, and it gets 330 hp. No matter which engine shoppers choose, the Bronco should be able to tow up to 3,500 pounds. Car shoppers will also have the option between the two-door or four-door versions of the Bronco. Overall, this Ford SUV can seat up to five people in a comfortable fashion.
