The 2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition Celebrates Ford Truck’s 75th Anniversary
Happy birthday, Ford F-Series trucks! The automaker released the 2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition to celebrate 75 years of America’s favorite pickup truck. What makes this Ford pickup truck so different, and has Ford released a price?
The Ford F-150 Heritage Edition uses the classic A-B-A exterior paint pattern
Ford has all the details on the newest pickup truck in the lineup. The 2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition is a modern take on some of the trucks from the 1970s and 1980s, thanks to its two-tone paint design. This paint style will be featured on the XLT Ford F-150 trucks and is referred to as the A-B-A paint pattern.
These colors are Race Red, Atlas Blue, Antimatter Blue, or Area 51 on the midsection (B) of the trucks. Then Ford will paint the upper and lower part (A and A) in either Agate Black or Carbonized Gray. Ford says these are “expressive exteriors” and “distinct seat trim covers.” Not all of these colors are available on the F-150 right now, but you might recognize the names from the Ford Bronco.
Photos released from the automaker show color-matched side mirrors and a new grille. The wheels appear to be a new shade that matches the ones on the new 2022 Ford F-150 XLT trim. The interior

In the celebratory video, Ford nods to the 1948 Ford F-1 pickup truck. That was the first year of production for this Ford pickup truck. The 1962 Ford F-150 truck also utilizes the A-B-A paint job. Ford shows some of the old F-150 trucks from the last 75 years that have impacted the design of today’s modern trucks.
The Ford F-Series truck also includes the Super Duty lineup. These are also called the Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-650, and F-750. Fans are most fond of the original F-150, which is in its 14th generation. The automaker has also added the Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck, which is finally hitting customer driveways.
If you are interested in ordering one of these F-150 Heritage Edition pickup trucks, pricing and order banks will open in mid-July. Ford is hoping to start production this fall.
Ford hasn’t released pricing for the pickup truck yet
For 2022, the Ford F-150 comes in a few trim levels. These trim levels are XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Tremor, Raptor, and now Heritage Edition. Since the 2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition is based on the XLT trim that starts at $38,515, this one will probably be more expensive. Either way, collector’s edition trucks are all the rage right now.
Keep an eye out on Ford’s social media channels as we get closer to the release. Perhaps some more surprises with the 2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition are still to come.
