Details about the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R have been slowly leaking out leading up to the official announcement. Ford Authority has many anticipated features, such as the suspected Ford 5.2L V8 Predator engine. That idea was tossed around years ago when rumors about the new Raptor first came about.

People spotted the new 2023 Raptor R prototype out and about earlier this year, with a new exhaust on the back. A new R under the FORD lettering on the front and some upgraded 17-inch wheels.

Some people call this truck debut the worst-kept secret in ages, but the time has almost come for Ford to confirm details. The 2023 Raptor should be available for order sometime this fall.

The leaked information about the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R is convincing

While it was initially speculated to be a 2022 truck, the Raptor R is now a 2023 version. There have been a lot of leaks and speculation about the main specs of the truck, none of which have been confirmed yet. On a leaked window sticker from Auto Evolution, some information was verified. The window sticker showed the 27-inch 12.5R17 BSW all-terrain tires and 17-inch forged aluminum wheels were two bits of info, albeit as optional equipment?

It also confirmed that the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R will be 145-inches in length and will get the SuperCrew body. The sticker also confirmed the 10R80 automatic gearbox. More information shows a five-link rear suspension with coil springs and two exhaust pipes. The 36-gallon fuel tank is also noted.

The window sticker doesn’t list any information on the fuel economy or price for this Ford truck. It has been suggested this was a calculated leak to lure some potential buyers away from the Ram 1500 TRX.

The Ram 1500 TRX would like a word

Even if the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R is everything claimed in this piece, will it be enough to fight the Ram 1500 TRX? The 5.2L Predator V8 will get around 750 hp, which is more than the TRX’s 702 hp. If not much else changes, the Raptor R will be a formidable opponent for the TRX.

Many buyers will probably rely on brand loyalty when it comes down to it. Ford fans will rejoice over the new 2023 Raptor R. Others will probably be interested in the Ram 1500 TRX. Either way, both performance pickup trucks won’t leave any buyers bored.
