For the 2023 model year, Ford commemorates the 75th anniversary of the F-Series with a throwback F-150 Heritage Edition model. 2023 F-150 specs: Engine options, towing, and gas mileage

Buyers of the 2023 Ford F-150 have no shortage of engine choices. Here are the engine options for the F-150, with their horsepower (hp) and torque (lb-ft) output. 

  • 3.3-liter V-6: 290 hp/265 lb-ft
  • 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6: 325 hp/400 lb-ft
  • 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6: 400 hp/500 lb-ft
  • 5.0-liter V-8: 400 hp/410 lb-ft
  • 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 (Raptor trim): 450 hp/510 lb-ft 
  • Supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 (Raptor R trim): 700 hp/640 lb-ft
  • 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 hybrid: 430 hp/570 lb-ft

All of these engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Also, the F-150 can be equipped with a rear-wheel drive system or a traction-enhancing four-wheel drive system. On the efficiency front, the F-150 gets an estimated gas mileage of up to 25 city/25 highway mpg. Additionally, depending on the trim, the F-150 can tow up to 14,000 pounds.

Furthermore, the F-150 offers an all-electric model: the F-150 Lightning. Also, for the 2023 model year, the F-150 Raptor off-road truck has a more powerful version, the Raptor R, to compete with the Ram 1500 TRX

Features in the 75th anniversary 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition 

The Ford F-Series has an illustrious history — and to celebrate its 75th anniversary, the 2023 Ford F-150 will offer an old-school Heritage Edition model. Available for the XLT trim, the F-150 Heritage Edition features a modern interpretation of the 1970s and ’80s two-tone exterior paint color schemes. 

Exterior paint color options for the F-150 Heritage Edition include:

  • Race Red midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
  • Antimatter Blue midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
  • Atlas Blue midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
  • Area 51 midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
  • Avalanche midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black

Inside the cab, the F-150 Heritage offers two color options: Black and Slate Gray. Also, the special edition truck has unique seat trim covers with distinctive inserts, as well as embossing on the console lid. Additionally, the upper center windshield, the center console, and the center screen startup animation feature a white “75 Years” logo. 

Features in the 2023 F-150 Rattler

Along with the Heritage Edition model and the new Raptor R trim, the 2023 F-150 adds a Rattler package. The F-150 Rattler offers customers a more budget-friendly option for an off-road truck with features like all-terrain tires, skid plates, an electronic rear-locking differential, and specially tuned off-road shock absorbers. Also, the F-150 Rattler has unique design features, including rattlesnake-inspired graphics and a desert theme inside the cab.

The pickup truck competitors of the Ford F-150 include the Ram 1500, Chevy Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, Toyota Tundra, and Nissan Titan.

Also, for warranty coverage, the 2023 F-150 has the backing of a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

How much does the 2023 Ford F-150 cost?

The starting price of the new 2023 Ford F-150 pickup truck is $34,585 MSRP for the Regular Cab, $39,195 MSRP for the Super Cab, and $41,530 MSRP for the SuperCrew Cab. Also, the 2023 F-150 costs $3,065 more than the 2022 version, which has a starting base price of $31,520 MSRP.

When will the 2023 Ford F-150 be available?

For availability, according to CarsDirect, the production of the 2023 Ford F-150 will start in October 2022. This means that the F-150 will likely arrive at Ford dealerships before the end of 2022.
