Is the 2023 Ford Maverick Actually Sold Out?
Nearly as soon as it arrived, it looks like the 2023 Ford Maverick is already gone. Earlier last week, the Blue Oval told dealerships to stop taking orders for the Maverick Hybrid, with the EcoBoost model following suit. Orders for the 2022 Ford Maverick closed last January due to high demand. Consumers were hopeful that the same supply issues would not impact Ford’s small truck again. But it appears that is exactly what happened to the 2023 Ford Maverick pickup.
Can you buy a 2023 Maverick?
If you want a 2023 Ford Maverick, you are likely out of luck. Orders for Ford’s small truck recently opened, but after about a week, the Blue Oval closed its books. The Maverick has been an extremely popular pickup. It offers affordability and legitimate utility. According to Motor1, most buyers are new to the brand or new to the pickup truck world. And that is a reflection of how much folks want this vehicle.
When Ford initially announced it would be building a compact pickup, reservations were off the charts. Especially with a starting cost of around $20k. And if the 2023 model is any indication, there is still plenty of hype surrounding this small truck. Unfortunately, if you want to buy a 2023 Ford Maverick, it might be too late to purchase one.
Has Ford updated the 2023 Maverick?
Although the Maverick was new for 2022, Ford has already made some legitimate updates for 2023. Perhaps the biggest of these is the introduction of the Tremor package. The Ford Maverick Tremor is a compact pickup that is actually capable of some off-road use. It adds a lift kit, a new all-wheel drive system, and an improved suspension.
The Tremor package is available along with the FX4 Off-Road package, but it is meant for improved performance on the road less traveled. And it will be interesting to see how many Tremor models that Ford is able to sell. For now, it appears that the hybrid Maverick is one of the more popular options.
Is the Maverick a good truck?
The Ford Maverick might be a unibody truck, but it is still capable of doing truck stuff. Because of that, it is no surprise that so many folks have been flocking to this vehicle. Because of demand, though, buying a Maverick can feel pretty difficult. Especially if you were not lucky enough to order one directly from Ford.
When properly equipped, the Maverick can tow up to 4,000 pounds, and its bed is fairly useful. Plus, you get the looks of a traditional truck despite this being a compact pickup. And that might be why people opt for a new Maverick over something like a Hyundai Santa Cruz.
Will Ford reopen orders for the 2023 Maverick?
It’s unclear whether or not the Blue Oval has plans to allow more customer orders for its small truck. If you are lucky, you might be able to find one at a dealership. But with supply chain constraints, inventories have been fairly limited. And that is even more true for a popular truck like the 2023 Maverick.
