The 2023 Ford Ranger Will Finally Have Hardcore Upgrades
We have been waiting for the Ford Ranger to do something that makes us want to giddy-up. Now the 2023 Ford Ranger is finally getting the upgrades we’ve been dreaming of. This midsize truck will finally have more off-roading power.
The 2023 Ford Ranger gains off-roading upgrades
It’s about time the 2023 Ford Ranger rolls out with incredible upgrades. We’ve had the same Ford Ranger generation since 2019, so it probably doesn’t seem that old. But other countries have used the current generation for nearly a decade.
The Ranger is older than it seems, but soon, it will be brand new again. To be specific, the 2023 Ranger will be revealed on November 24, just in time for turkey day. Until then, we will have to make do with teasers!
What to expect with the 2023 Ranger
The 2023 Ford Ranger has been put through the paces to make sure it can live up to expectations. Ford claims that the reimagined, redesigned, and reengineered Ranger is the smartest, most versatile, and most capable Ranger ever.
It will be available in over 180 markets around the globe, so it needs to withstand a variety of harsh environments. It’s been placed in temperatures over 122 degrees F and in freezing temperatures as well.
The new Ranger is expected to have the same 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine as the current model. It generates 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 7,500 lbs, which is better than rivals.
But it could also gain a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine and a plug-in hybrid variant. The V6 engine could provide about 400 hp, so that’s a pretty exciting increase. A hybrid model will improve the fuel economy as well.
Like the Bronco, the 2023 Ford Ranger could be offered with a 10-speed automatic transmission or a 7-speed manual transmission. It will ride on the updated version of the T6 body-on-frame platform, which is slightly larger than the current platform.
We’re hoping for a hardcore Ford Ranger Raptor model. We can speculate that Fox shocks and BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires will be included with off-roading upgrades.
What features will the new Ranger have?
We’re excited for the 2023 Ford Ranger to have new looks. Instead of a swooping ute design, it will have a more upright, boxy shape. It will also gain the C-shaped headlights from the Ford F-150.
The midsize Ranger will fit between the Maverick and F-150 with looks to match. But there haven’t been any clues about the updated interior yet. We hope the new Ranger gains more premium quality materials.
It’s safe to expect a new digital gauge cluster and a larger infotainment screen. Perhaps the Ranger will gain wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well. A wireless phone charge would make us happy too.
Generally, new trucks arrive with more standard safety features, so the 2023 Ranger could include more value. Perhaps it will have under-seat storage and a new moonroof, but we will have to wait to learn more.
The current Ford Ranger has an MSRP of $24,829. So, with all the upgrades included with the 2023 model, the price could go up. We will keep an eye out and update you as we learn more.
