During the global reveal of the 2023 Ford Ranger, Ford gave a tiny glimpse of the Ranger Raptor in a presentation video. Since then, the Ranger Raptor has been fully revealed in Europe.

The 2023 Ford Ranger is fully redesigned and Raptor models of the midsize truck will be available in over 100 global markets. At first, it was unclear whether or not the Ranger Raptor would make it stateside. However, since the global debut in February 2022 Jim Farley announced on Twitter that the all-new Ranger and Ranger Raptor will be coming to North American markets in 2023.

How much does the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor cost?

Ford has not yet released the price information for the 2023 Ranger Raptor. However, it will most certainly cost considerably more than the standard Ranger truck. The starting price of the 2022 Ranger is $25,285 MSRP for the Super Cab models and $27,685 MSRP for the SuperCrew models.

As seen in the F-150 and Bronco lineups, the Raptor is at the top of the range. So we expect the upcoming Ranger Raptor to be the most expensive Ranger model. Car and Driver estimates a starting price for the new Ranger Raptor around $44,500.

The European debut provides details about the 2023 Ranger Raptor. There may be some changes to the version we see in the U.S. However, here’s what we know about the off-road designated midsize truck so far.

For one, the Ranger Raptor will have a rear coil-spring suspension, similar to the off-road-enhanced Ford F-150 Raptor. Secondly, the Ranger Raptor will have a higher ground clearance than the standard Ranger truck. This higher ground clearance is mostly due to the large BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires on the Ranger Raptor. Furthermore, the off-road capabilities of the Ranger Raptor are further enhanced by Fox shock absorbers.

We also expect some new color options for the Ranger Raptor, like Code Orange, which are available on the newest F-150 and Bronco Raptor models.

2023 Ford Ranger Raptor: Engine options and specs

The European debut of the 2023 Ranger Raptor says the new Ranger Raptor will have the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that’s in the upcoming Ford Bronco Raptor. This engine is also in the high-performance Ford Explorer ST SUV. The output of the twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine tuned for the Explorer ST is 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque.

Also, it’s possible that Ford may release a plug-in hybrid version of the Ranger Raptor in the future, though that is strictly speculation. The automaker already has plans for a plug-in hybrid version of the Bronco — and may follow suit for the Ranger and Ranger Raptor.
