Is the 2023 Ford Ranger better than the 2022 Ford Ranger? 

Yes, the 2023 Ford Ranger has incredible improvements over the 2022 model to consider. However, some say that time is money, and you could be waiting for months. Reportedly, the order banks will open in August for the new Ranger. 

Then production will begin in October. So you could get your Ford Ranger around the beginning of 2023. But this production information might only be for fleet orders. Plus, the ongoing semiconductor chip shortage, rising inflation, and other supply chain issues could cause delays. 

The 2023 Ranger could start around $28,00 with higher trim levels reaching $40,000. We will update you when the official pricing is released. But remember that the MSRP doesn’t include the destination fee or dealership markups. 

You could get started with a 2022 Ranger today for about $25,290. Used models are basically the same truck at a lower price. 

What’s new for the 2023 Ranger? 

It’s hard to ignore the 2023 Ford Ranger and its new style. It has a squared-off front end with C-shaped headlights that match the larger Ford F-150 and the smaller Ford Maverick. It has a new grille design with a more prominent front bumper too. 

But the new look might not come with enough power to back it up. The Ford Ranger might have the same engine as the previous generation, which is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder option with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. 

According to Kelley Blue Book, the new Ford Ranger Raptor could come with a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 engine with 392 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque, but that model is even further out than the standard Ranger. 

The current Ranger gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and up to 26 mpg on the highway, which is pretty good. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.8 seconds. Also, the Ranger can tow up to 7,500 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,905 lbs. 

It’s unclear if these figures will change. However, the 2023 Ranger should have a better ride. The wheelbase increased by two inches in width and length to improve stability. Plus, the rear shocks were moved to the outboard of the frame rails. 

Does the 2023 Ranger have better features? 

Yes, the 2023 Ford Ranger has a brand new interior with more cargo and passenger space than before. The dashboard has new textured trim pieces with a two-tone color scheme. Plastic materials were replaced by higher quality materials, which look very durable. 

A new 10.1-inch infotainment screen is standard, but you can upgrade to a vertically oriented 12-inch screen. The new digital gauge cluster provides crucial driver information. Hopefully, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will come standard. 

The new Ranger should have more storage cubbies and solutions. But we’re still waiting to learn more about it. 

The 2023 Ranger is worth waiting for if you want a better ride and upgraded tech. But it might not get more power until the Ranger Raptor comes out.
