2023 Genesis G70: Release Date, Price, & Specs
The Genesis G70 has proven itself in the entry-level luxury/sport sedan segment. Competing against the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, it offers the same levels of capability, athletic handling, and a premium interior while costing thousands less.
In fact, the current G70 disrupted BMW’s hold on this segment. Going head to head with Bavaria’s bread and butter, it offers the same level of performance with a slightly better interior. Yes, it’s that good. Enough that Car and Driver put it on their 2022 Editor’s Choice list. The refreshed styling for 2022 enhanced the G70’s good looks and improved its already well-appointed interior. At a time when the styling of some auto manufacturers has strayed into the bizarre, the Genesis is a welcome sight.
When can I order a 2023 Genesis G70?

2023 Genesis G70 specs, changes, and updates
The Genesis G70 was extensively refreshed in 2022, so no significant changes are expected for the 2023 model year. Should you wait for the Genesis G70 or order a 2022 model now?
The 2022 and 2023 Genesis G70s are practically identical, so either one is an excellent choice.
In its Editor’s Choice list, Car and Driver summed the G70 up, saying it “delivers both a fun-to-drive nature and Genesis’s uniquely value-oriented approach to luxury in a sharp-looking sedan.”
Edmunds was also impressed with the G70 calling it “a worthy alternative to other sporty sedans in the class… With comparably sturdy build quality and similar performance, the more affordable G70 is an admirable choice with few downsides.”
Those downsides include a small backseat and fuel economy that lags the competition. Car and Driver also thought the base 4-cylinder engine was “lackluster” even though it puts out a respectable 252 horsepower. However, those complaints were more than offset by the G70s good looks, quality, and features, especially for the price, which undercuts its competitors.
The Genesis G70 still lacks a designer badge. However, it proves you don’t need one to get a premium sports sedan. You also don’t have to pay the price of those other brands for it either.
