The 2023 Genesis GV60 is the luxury automaker’s first all-electric SUV, sporting a unique design that sets it apart from the rest of the lineup. It has a unique mesh grille (absent from most EVs) and dual-horizontal headlights. The latest GV60 also boasts a sleek interior with plenty of modern comforts. Still, even luxury brands like Porsche and BMW sometimes omit certain technology features from their vehicles. You can’t buy an EV from Tesla with either of the most popular smartphone integration programs. So, does the 2023 Genesis GV60 offer Android Auto connectivity?

How does Android Auto work?

You can pair your compatible phone with your car’s infotainment system through Android Auto. The interface displays commonly used apps like Spotify, Maps, and Phone that you can access without looking down at your phone. Android Auto also uses Google Assistant, which allows you to activate and use features with voice commands.

Smartphone integration helps drivers stay focused on the road while using apps efficiently. For example, the Maps app will automatically send alerts about traffic delays that could affect your route. And if you drive an EV, you get set up Android Auto to notify you about nearby charging stations, Android explains.

Genesis confirms the 2023 GV60 comes with Android Auto. However, it isn’t available with a wireless connection. You’ll have to keep your Android smartphone tethered via a lightning cable to the car’s USB port whenever you want to use the feature. That’s odd, considering some vehicles from Hyundai (which owns Genesis) come standard with wireless smartphone integration.

The 2023 Genesis GV60 also has standard Apple CarPlay, the Android Auto alternative for iPhone users. Though some users debate which program is better, both function similarly.

What other modern amenities does the 2023 Genesis GV60 include?

In addition to including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, every 2023 Genesis GV60 has a 12.3-in infotainment display seamlessly connected to a digital gauge cluster of the same size. Genesis boasts about the interface’s fast response times and drivers’ ability to configure the locations of specific features. A physical dial below the gear shifter can also operate this interface.

With Android Auto, you’ll be able to use your smartphone as another way to unlock the car. The Genesis GV60 also has facial recognition software and fingerprint authentication to protect the vehicle from theft.

You can charge your Android mobile device or iPhone with the standard wireless charging pad. The Genesis GV60 also comes with a Bang & Olufsen audio system, access to automotive care services, and automatic over-the-air updates. Creature comforts include heating for the steering wheel and front seats, which also have standard ventilation.

In addition to providing advanced driver-assistance systems, the Genesis GV60 includes many features usually reserved for higher trims. The base model has a 360-degree camera, a remote parking function, and an advanced blind-spot monitoring system with live camera views.

In addition, the standard GV60 produces 314 hp and gets 248 miles of range, though the Performance model harnesses 429 hp. With Boost mode engaged, Car and Driver testers clocked this model from 0 to 60 mph in only 3.7 seconds. C/D’s reviewers also praised the crossover SUV’s smooth ride and sporty driving experience.

The 2023 Genesis GV60 starts at $58,890. As of this writing, it’s available only in 8 U.S. states. Though some rivals might be cheaper, the Genesis GV60’s range of premium and standard technology features is hard to beat.
