Is 2023 Honda Civic type R worth buying?

The new Civic Type R is one of the more anticipated releases from the brand, especially one that isn’t an electric vehicle. Honda’s latest hot hatch showed up in a red camouflage wrap hiding most of its distinguishing features, but you can see enough.

Red Brembo brake calipers are visible, as are Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, Motor1 reports. It also looks like the Civic Type R has bigger 20-inch wheels. There appear to be fewer air vents and plastic all over the Type R. While many automakers have been adding extra plastic, it is nice to see less of it. The center-mounted triple exhaust is still visible on the backside, but the middle tip serves as the resonator.

The rear wing is hard to ignore and sits up a bit higher on the tailgate. It will undoubtedly set the Type R apart from other vehicles. It’s hard to say, but the new Type R looks like a fun car to drive for a wide audience of people.

Pricing for the new Civic Type R was expected to be around $40,000

Honda has decided to go with a cleaner look on most of the new vehicles. The new Honda Civic also looks a bit cleaner, like the Type R does. The last Type R came with a 2.0L turbo engine with 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The 2023 Type R will probably get an updated version of that.

Honda didn’t initially plan to make the price over $40,000, but then the market lost its mind collectively. There’s a chance it is priced at or above that if things don’t settle down soon. The 2023 Honda Civic Type R is heading for testing at the Nürburgring soon, which means Honda will have more official information to share soon enough.

Even the Civic is growing up!

The Civic Type R is growing up, much like many of its fans. It does appear this version is a bit more grown-up and refined than the previous versions. However, that $40,000 price point is a little bit more grown-up as well. If buyers want to modify the vehicle after the fact, that’s always an option. The Civic is a pretty fun daily driver that appeals to many buyers, and this new rendition is just what the lineup needed.
