Since its base price is so close to the base price of the gas-powered model, it’s a better buy for drivers who want to save money on gas. The new CR-V Hybrid isn’t the most affordable hybrid SUV by a long shot, but its pricing is still attractive.
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid brings the value
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid starts at $30,900. It uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors to make 226 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The Tucson Hybrid gets 38 miles per gallon in the city and on the highway.
The Tucson Hybrid comes in three different trim levels: the Blue, SEL Convenience, and Limited. It comes standard with heated front seats, proximity key entry with push-button start, and rear privacy glass. The small hybid SUV also includes heated side mirrors, side mirrors with LED turn signals, and wireless device charging.
Kelley Blue Book praises the 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid’s roomy cabin and affordability. The Tucson Hybrid is one of the best small hybrid SUVs on the market for the money because of its great standard features.
2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid vs. 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid
The 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid is slightly more expensive than the 2023 Hyundai Tucon Hybrid. The CR-V Hybrid also has slightly better fuel economy than the Tucson Hybrid. U.S. News & World Report calls the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid the best hybrid SUV for 2022. That being said, the CR-V’s redesign could disrupt small hybid SUV rankings.
Ultimately, the two small hybrid SUVs are practically evenly matched. The Tucson Hybrid is more affordable, but the CR-V Hybrid’s redesign could be worth the $1,550 difference. There’s more hype around the Honda CR-V Hybrid thus far, so the Japanese automaker’s small hybrid SUV could be the more impactful model when it arrives.
