Put down your pitchforks. We aren’t saying that the Honda CR-V is a bad SUV. We’ve just been pumped for its redesign, but the first preview of the 2023 Honda CR-V interior is a little boring. Hopefully, it will gain a little more spice before it comes out.

The 2023 Honda CR-V interior is a little boring

Feast our eyes upon the 2023 Honda CR-V’s brand-new interior. If you like how the Honda Civic is styled and love the older CR-V’s interior, then you should feel at home. It borrowed elements from the Civic without going too far from its original design.

The interior didn’t exactly get a significant overhaul. It has the same steering wheel and digital gauge cluster shape. It also still has an old-school gear shifter and similar soft-touch material surfaces.

But you will notice that the wireless phone charger is closer to the center console, and the infotainment screen is placed above the air vents. Also, a mesh grille spans across most of the dash, and the pops of wood trim are gone.

We just expected a little more excitement with the new Honda CR-V generation. However, the accent stitching is attractive, and fans may enjoy the simple layout. This is just a preview, so other trim levels could look a little better.

What’s new for the 2023 CR-V?

The 2023 Honda CR-V is getting a total redesign to kick off its seventh generation. Expect to see a new exterior and interior design with updated tech. Currently, we only have a few teasers about the new model. However, it will make its debut on July 12.

You can see the Honda CR-V’s new face, which includes sleeker LED headlights, a larger grille, and a more prominent front bumper. The rear end has modern taillights with a new bumper shape as well.

We haven’t seen the full exterior yet, but some rumors suggest that it could be a bit larger. The CR-V could have even more passenger and cargo space than before. But reportedly, the extra space might be for an optional third row.

The current CR-V provides up to 39.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats with up to 75.8 cubes total.

We haven’t seen any information about new powertrain options, but a new hybrid setup is on the way. Plus, we hope that the CR-V gains a little more muscle to tow more than only 1,500 lbs.

How much does the 2023 CR-V cost?

Reportedly, the 2023 Honda CR-V will start at about $28,000, with higher trim levels increasing the price to around $40,000. The 2022 CR-V has an MSRP of $26,800, so the new model will probably be more expensive to cover the upgrades.

We expect a Honda CR-V TrailSport model to arrive by the end of the summer. But we hope it’s not just an appearance package. The Honda Passport TrailSport is a bit of a letdown because it doesn’t have any mechanical upgrades.

The 2023 model should be available at dealerships by the end of the year. We’re only a couple of weeks from seeing the brand new CR-V and learning all about it, so stay tuned.
