How much does the 2023 Honda HR-V cost?

You can get started with the 2023 Honda HR-V for $24,895. This is a price increase of about $1,800. This is a little higher than expected because we thought the HR-V was on more of the Hyundai Venue’s level.

The Hyundai Venue has an MSRP of $19,000. Pricing puts the HR-V closer to the Honda CR-V, which starts at about $26,800. Also, the Toyota Corolla Cross undercuts the price of the HR-V with its MSRP of $22,445.

We’ve only listed the MSRPs for these vehicles, so the prices don’t even include the destination fees or dealership markups. Also, you can add all-wheel drive to the Honda HR-V for $1,500. You can’t equip some rivals, like the Venue, with AWD.

However, a higher price tag doesn’t mean the HR-V isn’t worth it. This little SUV may have gotten enough upgrades to provide plenty of value.

What’s new for the HR-V?

The 2023 Honda HR-V received big changes for the new generation, and we mean that literally. This SUV is now 9.4 inches longer and 2.6 inches wider. But the extra space is primarily for passenger comfort.

Also, check out the HR-V’s more confident look. It has a longer, boxier nose for a more confident look. The grille is larger and paired with sleeker headlights and the sides of the vehicle have sharp, defining lines.

Cargo space is nearly the same as the previous generation. You can access up to 24.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and up to 55.1 cubes total. There may actually be less room to work with than before because the HR-V lost its magic seat

The Magic Seat can be flipped up to provide more floor space or placed pretty low to the floor. But now the gas tank was moved and gets in the way of the seats.

But maybe you won’t miss the Magic Seat when you enjoy the better ride. The Honda HR-V abandoned the Honda Fit’s platform to the Honda Civic’s and gained a multi-link rear suspension.

The new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine cranks out 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. The old 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine cranked out 141 hp and 127 lb-ft of torque.

Does the 2023 HR-V have nice features?

Yes, the 2023 Honda HR-V has plenty of upgraded features to get excited about. The refreshed interior is similar to the Honda Civic’s with premium quality materials such as leather upholstery, soft-touched covered materials, and attractive accent stitching.

Plus, it comes standard with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and a 7-inch infotainment system. You can opt for the 9-inch screen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Driving modes include Eco, Sport, Normal, and for some reason, Hill Descent control is included. It’s just slightly odd because this SUV isn’t an off-roader.

The price might be surprising, but it seems totally worth it. The 2023 Honda HR-V is larger, more powerful, looks better, and includes advanced standard features. It will arrive at dealerships this week!
