The 2023 Honda Pilot Gained Significant Upgrades
Check out how the new Honda Pilot looks! This family SUV is freshening things up with a revised look, updated features, and enhanced capabilities to be the most rugged Pilot ever. See what the 2023 Honda Pilot has to offer.
2023 Honda Pilot: What’s new?
The 2023 Honda Pilot was redesigned to look more rugged and confident. It has a boxier shape to help it stand out against rivals like the Kia Telluride. According to Car and Driver, the previous generations looked like a minivan, but that awkward phase is in the past.
Check out its boxier shape, bigger grille design, and fresh LED headlights. Also, you may notice that the 2023 Pilot is a little larger. It’s 3.4 inches longer and 1.5 inches wider. Plus, the wheelbase was extended by 2.8 inches.
This provides extra room for cargo and passengers. It should also provide a smoother ride with more control. The new Pilot could be more athletic. It rides an updated version of the Honda Ridgeline’s platform.
The chassis includes a stiffer suspension, quicker steering ratio, larger brake pads, and shorter pedal motions to enhance its performance.
How capable is the Pilot TrailSport
The 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport seeks to take families farther into the wild. Honda shared that this Moab-tuned family crossover is capable of moderately difficult off-road trails.
The Pilot TrailSport has 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, a unique suspension tune, a 1.0-inch suspension lift, steel skid plates, tow hooks, and a standard trailer hitch.
It features a new torque vectoring all-wheel drive system that can send 70 percent of its power to the rear axle and 100 percent of its power to one wheel. It also includes an upgraded rear differential.
Use the new Trail mode to automatically send the power where it’s needed. For example, 75 percent of the power can be sent to the wheel with the most traction, and 25 percent can be sent to the tire without traction. It could be helpful if one tire is in the air.
The TrailWatch system provides four different camera views of areas that the driver can’t normally see while the SUV travels below 15 mph. This makes it easy to avoid obstacles. Also, the Pilot TrailSport includes hill descent control.
The 3.5-liter V6 engine was revised and now provides 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque for powering over obstacles. The engine is paired with a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
Is the 2023 Pilot comfortable?
Yes, the 2023 Honda Pilot is extremely comfortable with extra passenger space. It has the best-in-class passenger space, and the second-row seats can recline further. The middle seat of the second row can be removed, and captain’s chairs are available.
The longer wheelbase provides a smoother ride, and more sound-dampening materials have been added to keep the interior peaceful and quiet.
Plus, the rear cargo now has up to 22.0 cubic feet of cargo space available. You can access up to 114 cubes with the seats folded flat.
The interior features a massive center console with plenty of storage trays and cubbies available. Also, you can access up to 14 cupholders.
We’re excited to see how the Honda Pilot compares to competitors. It’s more capable, comfortable, athletic, and spacious than before.
