The 2023 Honda Pilot is here, and it looks pretty different from the 2022 version. That comes as welcome news to some, who found the recent iteration of Honda’s popular family-friendly SUV to be lacking in terms of looks. Here’s what the new 2023 Honda Pilot redesign looks like, and how much you’ll pay to get one.

What does the 2023 Honda Pilot look like?

The 2023 Honda Pilot has gained a sporty, more rugged vibe than its predecessor. Car and Driver notes that images of the new Pilot show “a larger grille, squared-off headlights and taillights, and a new bright blue color.”

Much of the 2023 Honda Pilot is expected to remain the same as the 2022 Pilot. Changes that people may notice include an updated interior like the infotainment system and digital gauge cluster. In general, the 2023 Pilot will also have nicer materials than the outgoing model, which will likely increase the price, though there’s no word on what that will be yet.

a new infotainment system, nicer materials, and a digital gauge cluster. We’re not sure of the new Pilot’s powertrain, but the current 3.5-liter V-6 may stick around, and a hybrid variant will likely be added.

There is a new off-road ready trim level

One of the biggest pieces of news about the 2023 Honda Pilot is that it has an enhanced off-road trim level. This is called the TrailSport and it brings a certain ruggedness to the Honda Pilot that’s been missing. While there was a TrailSport trim available on the 2022 Honda Pilot, the 2023 Pilot includes more features and is more ready to take on the trails than the 2022 model year.

On top of what the 2022 Honda Pilot TrailSport included, the 2023 TrailSport will have “all-terrain tires, skid plates, suspension modifications, and a more sophisticated all-wheel drive system.”

How much will the new Pilot cost?

Honda hasn’t revealed official pricing for the 2023 Pilot yet. Car and Driver thinks that it will start somewhere around $40,000. This is a few thousand dollars more than the 2022 model, which had a starting price of $36,830.

The 2023 Honda Pilot will also likely keep the same engine as the 2022 Honda Pilot. This is a 3.5-liter engine that makes 280-hp and 262 lb-ft of torque.

Overall, the 2023 Honda Pilot promises to be a nicely updated version of a sport utility vehicle that has been popular among individuals, couples, and families for years. Of course, we’ll have to wait to see exactly what comes in the newest Pilot, as well as its pricing and its new crash test results. Yet if it’s an improvement over the outgoing model, it’s sure to retain its popularity.
