These days there are so many trims, packages, and accessories on many vehicles that the process can quickly get complicated. You go in to buy a specific trim, and now you have all these options being thrown at you by a car salesman who swears that you can’t live without them. Thankfully Hyundai is keeping things straightforward for 2023 Palisade shoppers, and here’s how.

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade is as simple as it gets

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade has five trim levels, each offering quite a bit. The base trim is the SE, and it comes with a 3.8-liter V6 engine, which is the only option available. It generates a respectable 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque.

Front-wheel drive is standard, but you can upgrade to all-wheel drive. A 12.3-inch touchscreen with HD radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Sirius XM radio also come standard. As far as safety, you’ll get blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, and safe exit assist to name a few. The SE trim starts at $35,900.

The SEL trim is next and starts at $38,900. Some of the upgrades include H-Tex trimmed seats, an eight-way power driver seat, a two-way lumbar driver seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The XRT has an MSRP of $41,200 and adds XRT-exclusive lower bumpers, skid plates, and lower door garnish, as well as black roof rails.

The Limited has leather-trimmed seats, heated second and third-row seats, mélange headliners, and ventilated front seats. The MSRP for the Limited is $47,450.

Finally, the Calligraphy is the top trim and starts at $49,850. It has more of a luxury feel, with quilted leather door panels, microfiber headliners, a two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel, and more.

There are a few available accessories

For Palisade shoppers, there are eleven accessories you can purchase from Hyundai, and none of them are that expensive. Unlike some vehicles that have accessories that cost in excess of $2,000, the most costly accessory is the winter package, which costs $340. This includes rubber floor mats that will protect your floorboards from wet snow.

The next highest accessory is the roof rack cross rails, which costs only $315. These are handy for loading items on your roof.

Other accessories are fairly basic and include a cargo tray, cargo net, cargo blocks, rear bumper applique, mudguards, and even a first aid kit for your car. Each is relatively affordable, and if you choose to buy all the available accessories, it costs a mere $1,610.

The sole package trim level is on the SEL trim, according to Hyundai, and it’s known as the Premium. It costs $4,950 and adds a ton of features like 20-inch alloy wheels, third-row USB outlets, a 115-volt AC power outlet, a power sunroof, and much more.

Who knew less could be more? 

It’s great to have options, but when you have so many choices that you can’t make up your mind, it can become frustrating. This can also be annoying when you have to pay extra money for simple features that could easily be included in one of the trim levels. 

Having lots of choices can be convenient if you are purchasing an SUV, and can purchase a package on a lower trim to make it more off-ready without spending more for a higher trim. Things have become so convoluted, however, that you have to purchase many features you don’t want just to get one or two things that you do.

Having a mere five choices, and a few basic accessories that are actually useful, is a breath of fresh air from Hyundai. The Palisade has something for everyone, and owners will never feel like they’re being pressured into making purchases they won’t use.
