2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid: Want, Get, Pass
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson took the world by storm after its recent redesign. The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is a new and improved more fuel-efficient version of the popular small SUV. Which 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid trims should you want, get, and pass on?
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited: Want
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited is the trim to want because it comes standard with features like highway driving assist, navigation-based smart cruise control with curve control, and a blind-spot view monitor.
The Tucson Hybrid Limited is incredibly advanced. It starts at $38,660. The small hybrid SUV includes a surround-view monitor, a remote smart parking assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system with an individual tire indicator.
The Tucson Hybrid Limited features the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine and two electric motors that other trims do, but the Limited trim isn’t about speed or power. It’s about tech and convenience. Like most Hyundai final trim levels, the Tucson Hybrid Limited features the pinnacle of modern automotive technology. It’s about as cutting edge as any small hybrid SUV on the market. The Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited may be the trim you want, but which trim should you get?
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid SEL Convenience: Get
If you had to choose between the 2023 Tucson Hybrid’s three trim levels, the SEL Convenience is the one to get. The mid-tier SEL Convenience trim is affordable, and it includes many of the creature comforts that escape the base model Tucson Hybrid Blue.
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid SEL Convenience starts at $33,860. That’s $2,960 more than the base model. That extra $2,960 gets features like wireless device charging, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof. It also comes standard with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, and ambient interior lighting.
The Tucson Hybrid SEL Convenience provides great value for the money compared to other trim levels. The SEL Convenience is the one to get because its many standard features improve its overall ownership experience over time.
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Blue: Pass on
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Blue starts at $30,900. It comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Tucson Hybrid Blue also includes steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, remote keyless entry, and rear privacy glass. Edmunds praises the Tucson Hybrid’s smooth ride quality and spacious interior.
The Tucson Hybrid Blue is a great small hybrid SUV, it just doesn’t offer as much value as upper trim levels. Since The Tucson Hybrid SEL Convenience adds better standard tech and more creature comforts, the Tucson Hybrid Blue is the model to pass on.
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid will compete with the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, the 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid, and its South Korean cousin, the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid. There’s plenty of competition in the small hybrid SUV vehicle segment, but Hyundai’s SUV has as good a chance of topping ranking lists as any of the compact hybrid models. Is the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid the best hybrid SUV on the market?
