The 2023 Jeep Gladiator Gets Earl Gray Paint
In 2020, Jeep unveiled a special off-road variant of its Gladiator pickup truck. The overlanding, go-anywhere concept dubbed the “Farout” came with 37-inch tires, a 12,000-lb winch, and a fully-functional kitchen. The concept Gladiator was also painted in a new color, and after a massive fan response, the grayish hue is now an option.
The 2023 Jeep Gladiator gets a new color
In the 2023 Jeep Gladiator lineup, “Earl” will be an official color for customers. Jeep calls the color “a bold shade of gray with hints of aquamarine;” therefore, “Earl” presumably means “Earl Gray.”
AutoBlog reports that the novel hue will be a $695 option which is $300 more than the other colors. The Gladiator palette includes Black, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, High Velocity, Hydro Blue, Sarge Green, Silver Zynith, and Sting-Gray. Each color is $395, but Bright White is free.
Interestingly enough, Earl is also featured on the Wrangler and Wrangler 4xe on the Jeep build configurator. Yet, the color is only a $395 option.
What’s new for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator?
Jeep isn’t changing up much for the 2023 Gladiator. However, they have added a limited-edition Freedom package, available on Sport S trims for an additional $3,295, Car and Driver reports.
Honoring U.S. military personnel, the Freedom package brings a military-themed exterior with an “Oscar Mike” badge on the rear tailgate or swing gate. The package also provides a winch-capable steel front bumper, steel rock rails, and black 17-inch wheels.
A Capability package for the High Altitude trim also carries the winch-capable front bumper and rock sliders. Yet, it also adds a forward-facing off-road camera so drivers can dial in their trail lines.
The Willys models receive more standard features this model year, including keyless entry with a remote start. Moreover, the Snazzberry maroon paint color is replaced with a fluorescent High-Velocity yellow.
How much is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator?
For entry into a four-door pickup with trail-conquering capability, the base Gladiator Sport will cost $40,570, which includes the destination fee. The most expensive of the nine trim levels is the Gladiator High altitude which fetches $55,875.
Car and Driver says the Gladiator they would choose is the Sport S, which starts at $43,970. They added a three-piece hard top, the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen, and the Trail Rail Management system for extra “Jeepness.” These additions bring the price up to $49,575. For those who want their Gladiator with all-terrain tires, it may be better to get them after the fact, though.
When choosing them on the Jeep configurator, it will make you swap the six-speed manual transmission for an eight-speed automatic. It’s also a $2,000 upgrade, and you can’t row gears yourself.
Whichever spec Gladiator shoppers choose, all will enjoy the pickup truck’s standard off-road equipment and capability. From abundant skid plates to the ability to take on up to 30 inches of water, each has ample ground clearance. The Gladiator will allow any driver to entertain aggressive approach and departure angles to conquer any terrain.
