Does the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Have Apple CarPlay?
Jeep may not necessarily be labeled an affordable or practical vehicle brand normally, but the manufacturer has forayed into the luxury vehicle sector with the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Sometimes luxury brands make vehicles that have what appear to be all of the extra bells and whistles possible, yet they still lack basic features that even the most practical cars on the market offer. Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, a premium SUV, missing key features like Apple CarPlay?
What is Apple CarPlay anyway?
Everyone knows that using your phone while you drive can put you, and other drivers on the road, in grave danger. Apple CarPlay is a product from Apple that makes it simple to connect your iPhone to your vehicle to play music, view maps, make phone calls, and so much more without having to get out your phone and tap on its screen.
You can use Apple CarPlay to control many aspects of your phone using your vehicle’s dashboard display, making it easier and safer to change playlists, queue up a map, or listen to a voicemail. Plus, you can use Siri to perform voice commands, like making a phone call or adding something to your calendar, without having to take your eyes off the road.
According to Apple, over 600 models of cars on the market come with Apple CarPlay, and you can get Apple CarPlay added to your vehicle by purchasing an aftermarket system. Apple CarPlay is a hugely popular vehicle capability, and it’s easy to see why most consumers would want such capabilities when buying a new vehicle.
So, Does the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Have Apple CarPlay?
It sure does! Despite other luxury carmakers sometimes leaving out consumer-friendly features like Apple CarPlay, Jeep made sure their premium SUV offering still comes standard with Apple CarPlay. According to Stellantis, the Grand Wagoneer will also come standard with Android Auto, which offers many of the same capabilities to Android smartphone users.
According to the Jeep website, any Jeep vehicle with a Uconnect® 5 system installed comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as do many vehicles with a Uconnect 4 system. Jeep vehicles have Uconnect systems from 2016 or older do not have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto capabilities.
