Have you ever looked at a Jeep and thought it needs more space? Well, you aren’t alone. Stellantis agrees that the Jeep Grand Wagoneer needs more room. That’s why the incredibly hefty 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L is officially on the way. 

How much does the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L cost? 

Official pricing for the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L and Jeep Wagoneer L hasn’t been released. The regular Jeep Wagoneer starts at around $58,995, and the Grand Wagoneer begins at about $87,995. 

It’s safe to expect the longer L models could cost a few thousand dollars more to cover the costs of extra space and power. The prices listed above are the MSRPs, so they don’t include the destination fees or dealership markups. 

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade ESV starts at about $79.295, so it’s a considerably cheaper massive luxury SUV. Also, the Ford Expedition Max has an MSRP of $79,765, so the regular Wagoneer L could be cheaper. 

How much space does the Grand Wagoneer L have? 

The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L is 12 inches longer overall. It has an additional 7 inches of length between its axles. Basically, the Jeep Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L are long-wheelbase options compared to the regular models. 

You can access up to 44.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and 88.8 cubic feet behind the second-row seats. If you fold the second and third rows down, you can access up to 130.9 cubes. 

This is most than the Ford Expedition Max has to offer, with 120.5 cubic feet of cargo space. Plus, it provides plenty of space for 4-by-8 sheets of plywood. 

Compared to the regular Wagoneer, the Wagoneer L has an additional 19 cubes of cargo space behind the first row and an extra 17 cubes behind the third row. Passenger space wasn’t affected much. 

If you need even more cargo space, the Grand Wagoneer L can tow up to 10,000 lbs when properly equipped. This is the same towing capacity as the regular model, but it’s also best-in-class. 

How much power does the Wagoneer L have? 

The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L benefits from new Hurricane power to handle the extra length. The standard-output turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six Hurrican engine cracks out 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the high-output (H.O.) variant for 510 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. 

This is a considerable upgrade compared to the 5.7-liter V8 engine with 392 hp and the 6.4-liter V8 engine with 471 hp. Also, the new engine options aren’t as thirsty. 

The current Grand Wagoneer gets an EPA-estimated 13 mpg in the city and up to 18 mpg on the highway, which isn’t great. The hurricane engine should improve the fuel economy by about 13 percent to about 19 mpg combined. 

According to Car and Driver, the Grand Wagoneer L weighs an extra 200 pounds and has larger fuel tanks. They can hold about four extra gallons each, providing additional range between fill-ups.  

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer L still is a highly capable off-roader with up to 10 inches of ground clearance. There are three available off-roading systems, and with the Quadra-Lift air suspension, you can forge water up to two feet deep.
