When is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler coming out?

The new 2023 Jeep Wrangler and 2023 Wrangler 4xe will likely hit roads in late Summer/early Fall 2022. It will be available at Jeep dealerships throughout the United States and in various international markets. 

Trims offered for the 2023 Wrangler include Sport, Sport S, Rubicon, 4xe Rubicon, Sahara, 4xe Sahara, Sport RHD, and Rubicon 392. Also, the standard Wrangler offers two-door and four-door models, while the Wrangler 4xe only offers a four-dour version.

The Jeep Wrangler is built at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Toledo, Ohio.

How much does the 2023 Jeep Wrangler cost?

The starting price of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler SUV ranges from $30,295 MSRP for the Sport trim up to $79,995 MSRP for the Rubicon 392 trim. For the 2023 Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid, the starting price is $54,765 MSRP for the Sahara trim and $58,595 MSRP for the Rubicon trim.

Also, the 2023 Wrangler costs slightly more than the 2022 Wrangler. The standard 2022 Wrangler has a starting price of $29,995 MSRP, while the 2022 Wrangler 4xe has a starting price of $54,595 MSRP.

The new 2023 Jeep Wrangler offers no shortage of engine options. This includes:

  • 3.6-liter V-6: 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque
  • Turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder: 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque
  • Turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V-6: 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque
  • Plug-in hybrid with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors (4xe): 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque
  • 6.4-liter V-8 (Rubicon 392): 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque

Also, for the transmission, the Wrangler offers either a standard six-speed manual or an available eight-speed automatic. Additionally, all Wrangler models feature a four-wheel drive system for trail-gripping off-road capabilities.

On the efficiency front, the standard Wrangler gets estimated gas mileage of up to 25 combined mpg. Also, the Wrangler 4xe gets an estimated fuel economy of up to 49 combined MPGe in electric-only mode and 20 combined mpg in gas mode. The Wrangler 4xe has an estimated electric driving range of 49 miles for electric mode.

What’s new for the 2023 Wrangler?

As mentioned earlier, the new 2023 Jeep Wrangler offers two new exterior paint color options. For purple-lovers, there’s a limited-edition Reign color. Reign is a possible reference to Prince’s music album Purple Rain. For a more stoic look and lovers of black tea, there’s also Earl, gray color with an aquamarine tint. 

The 2023 Wrangler offers a Freedom Edition model along with the new color options. Notable features for the Wrangler Freedom Edition include a “military-themed exterior and interior design cues,” rock rails, a steel front bumper, and an American flag decal. Also, the Rubicon trim offers new 17-inch wheel designs.

The SUV competitors of the Jeep Wrangler include the Ford Bronco, Toyota 4Runner, Land Rover Defender, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, and Subaru Outback.

Also, for warranty coverage, the 2023 Wrangler has a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Additionally, the Wrangler has a free maintenance plan, with three years of coverage.
