The Jeep Wrangler isn’t just a consumer favorite because of its applauded off-roading skills. It’s also one of the most customizable SUVs you can buy. For example, your Wrangler can have two or four doors, and there are currently six roof options available. Certain 2023 Jeep Wrangler trim levels have certain features specific to them.

Jeep also offers several other packages and add-ons for the Wrangler’s exterior and interior. The Wrangler can be had in various unconventional colors, including purple and hot pink. You can even paint the 2023 Jeep Wrangler’s bumper a different shade, but only on one trim.

What’s new for the 2023 Jeep Wrangler?

Jeep says the 2023 Jeep Wrangler starts at $30,295 for the two-door Sport trim. Its standard V6 engine makes 295 hp, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and 4WD. It’s already prepared for some trail action with a two-speed transfer case, all-season tires, and solid axles on each end.

Adding another set of doors to the Wrangler Sport costs $4,265 extra and adds manual air conditioning. Both models accommodate five riders on cloth-covered seats, though leather is optional. This year, the base trim gets an upgraded 7-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration. 

The Willy’s Sport trim adds a few standard features like a rear limited-slip differential and 32-inch tires. The Sport S, which costs $37,860 for the four-door, is eligible for more comfort-minded features. You can add a bigger touchscreen, plus packages that include heating elements and more safety features.

Your Jeep Wrangler can also have three optional engines. Two turbo-fours are available, but the hybrid 4xe powertrain is reserved for the Sahara and Rubicon trims. This one has two electric motors, generating 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

If you’re looking to save on gas, the optional turbodiesel V6 is an acceptable substitute. The EPA gives it an estimated mileage of 22/29 mpg city/highway. This engine makes 260 hp and a whopping 442 lb-ft of torque, paired with your choice of two eight-speed automatic transmissions.

The Jeep Wrangler Sahara is available exclusively as a four-door model and costs $44,715 without additional options. The Wrangler Rubicon costs $42,595 for the two-door model or $46,395 if you require four doors. The Rubicon models also include beefy 33-inch tires, rock sliders, and locking front and rear differentials.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler trim level High Altitude’s unique bumper option

The Wrangler High Altitude is available only as a four-door, starting at $53,810. While every other trim has a black bumper, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler trim High Altitude’s can be optioned in five different colors. It looks like the bumper can only match your exterior color choice, but we might see two-toned options in the future.

The High Altitude trim also comes standard with glossy 20-inch aluminum wheels and comfy leather-trimmed bucket seats for the interior. The upgraded 8.4-inch touchscreen has standard navigation. Like many other trims, the High Altitude can have an anti-spin differential rear axle for $695.

That distinctive bumper comes with a catch

Jeep only provides five color options for the Wrangler High Altitude: white, black, gray, silver, and blue. Every other Jeep Wrangler trim, including the base Sport models, have six additional color options.

Those include yellow, purple (a limited-edition color this year), army green, blue-gray, dark gray, and red. White is the only color that comes free of charge: the rest cost $395.

Some paint options have also been discontinued entirely, like the khaki-colored Gobi. Still, it’s worth noting that Jeep constantly reveals new colors and does a lot of trim/option shuffling. It’s not unreasonable to assume that we may see more bumper customization options on the next Wrangler.
