2023 Kia Sorento: What’s new?
The 2023 Kia Sorento is part of the fourth generation that debuted in 2021, meaning it’s still pretty fresh. It doesn’t exactly need a mid-cycle refresh or an updated facia yet. However, that doesn’t mean that the 2023 model didn’t get more goodies.
Let’s get started with the LX or base model. It now comes with more Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) such as Blind Spot Collision Avoidance, Rear Cross Collison Avoidance, and Safe Exit Assist. These features are standard across the entire lineup.
The Sorento S comes with a standard wireless phone charged, and moving up to the EX trim provides access to an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger seat and frameless rearview mirror.
You can upgrade to the EX model for a 12.3-inch color digital instrument panel, power-folding mirrors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
The top-spec Kia Sportage Prestige trim gets standard all-wheel drive, gloss black accents, and revised bumpers. It also has a 115-volt power inverter that can charge laptops and other devices.
How much does the 2023 Sorento cost?
The 2023 Kia Sorento price starts at $29,990. The 2022 model begins at around $29,590. This represents about a $400 increase, which isn’t bad, especially when compared to other SUVs that have gone up by thousands.
Also, Kia shared that these prices don’t include the $1,295 destination fee or dealership markups. Moving to the X-Line EX Prestige trim brings the price up to $43,590. So, it costs about $13,600 to add off-roading upgrades along with all the bells and whistles.
Upgrading to the Kia Sportage X-Line package adds 20-inch Gloss Black alloy wheels, a one-inch lift, a unique bumper design, high-utility roof rails, SynTex upholstery, and heated seats.
It has an 8.3-inch ground clearance, a center locking differential, and various off-roading modes for slippery conditions. It’s more capable than you think.
The 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid kicks things off at around $36,590, and the Kia Sorento PHEV brings the price up to $49,890.
Is the 2023 Sorento worth buying?
Yes, the 2023 Kia Sorento is an excellent SUV for daily driving and families. It’s like the Kia Telluride. Only it’s a bit smaller and more agile. It has a smooth ride over most surfaces and a quiet interior.
The standard 2.5-liter inline-four engine only cranks out 191 hp, so we recommend upgrading to the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine for 281 hp. The Sorento Hybrid churns out 227 hp with instant torque, and the Sorento PHEV provides 261 hp.
The high-quality interior features a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, ambient lighting, and accent stitching for a near-luxury feeling. But the third row is for kids only.
