While people have different perspectives on what constitutes an attractive design for a car, it’s difficult not to be impressed by the eye-catching styling of the 2023 Kia Sportage. Compared to the 2022 Nissan Rogue, the 2023 Sportage looks fresh and modern. It also has unique design elements. 

Examples of this include the “floating” tiger nose grille and notch-shaped taillights. Also, the Sportage has distinctive boomerang daytime running lights with a unique outward shape.

Sportage vs. Rogue: Performance and efficiency

For performance, the Sportage offers a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine (187 hp) and a hybrid powertrain (226 hp). In comparison, all Rogue models have a 201-hp 2.0-liter VC-Turbo 3-cylinder engine.

Kia didn’t yet announce the efficiency ratings for the gas-powered 2023 Sportage. However, the automaker claims that the Sportage Hybrid will have an estimated fuel economy of 39 combined mpg. In comparison, the 2022 Rogue has an estimated gas mileage of 33 combined mpg.

Sportage vs. Rogue: Passenger and cargo space

With its redesign, the 2023 Sportage grew larger in size. As a result, it offers more passenger space. This includes a class-leading 41.3 inches of rear legroom and a rear cargo capacity of 39.6 cu-ft. In comparison, the 2022 Rogue has 36.8 inches of rear legroom and a rear cargo capacity of 36.5 cu-ft.

Sportage vs. Rogue: Technologies

Nissan also gave the 2023 Sportage some technology upgrades. This includes the dual panoramic curved display, which features a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. In comparison, the largest screen available for the 2023 Rogue is 9.0 inches. 

Also, the Sportage has a wide array of safety-enhancing driving assistance technologies. This includes standard rear occupant alert and driver attention warning, as well as available speed limit assist and highway driving assist. The Rogue doesn’t offer any of these technologies.
