Kia hasn’t been resting on its previous success with the Telluride SUV. It seems the 2023 Kia Telluride continues winning awards like Best SUV for Family, Best Midsize SUV, and Best SUV with Three Rows. It doesn’t end there, though. What is Kia doing right with the Telluride sport utility vehicle that seems to improve every year?

The 2023 Kia Telluride continues winning awards for Best Three-Row SUV

Looking through PR Newswire for press releases on the Kia Telluride turns up many results. This week, the 2023 Kia Telluride earned the Best Three-Row SUV for Families for the fourth time in a row from U.S. News. It also landed on the list of Best Midsize SUVs, Best Crossover SUVs, and Best SUVs with Three Rows.

Just below that announcement is the Car and Driver’s 10Best Trucks and SUVs list. The 2023 Telluride ranked at the top of more than 430 models available right now, and some that haven’t hit the market yet. Kia’s midsize SUV earned high marks for style, comfort, and near-luxury experience. It even earns the title of “complete package.”

At the start of March, Kia put out sales numbers for February. The automaker notes that it had its best month ever,, with 60,859 units moved, with the Telluride posting record numbers. In February 2023, the brand sold 9,023 units of the Telluride. That is up from 7,618 in February 2022. So far this year, Kia has sold 16,605 units in total, already surpassing the 14,408 sold in 2022.

Kia’s Telluride also took home an IIHS Top Safety Pick award

On top of that, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety announced the 2023 Kia Telluride was a Top Safety Pick Plus winner. It has improved headlights for this year and earned the highest score possible on the headlights and front-crash prevention tests. Even with the updated tests and new segments, the Telluride delivered on safety.

The Telluride was named one of the Best Family Cars to Buy by The Car Connection (TCC) for the third year in a row. “The Telluride’s win validates our expertise in designing vehicles that are stylish, comfortable, and feature-rich,” Steven Center, COO & EVP, Kia America, said.

At the end of last year, the Telluride even took home the Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards for the Best Three-Row Midsize SUV win. This is the fourth time it has won this award from KBB, winning every year since it hit the market.

The Kia brand had a record year in 2022

It makes sense that the Kia brand had its best retail sales year in the history of the company in 2022. SUVs and sport utility vehicles made up 66.8% of Kia’s sales for 2022, the highest in the company’s history. Seven Kia models saw double and triple-digit sales growth, including the Kia Telluride.

These results only cover the first page of Telluride press releases, but the good news keeps rolling in. When reliability is one of the most important things for customers to consider, having a long history of awards and accolades doesn’t hurt. Fortunately, the Kia Telluride continues winning award after award and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. In fact, Kia only improved the Telluride this year to meet more rigorous IIHS Top Safety Pick standards.
