The 2023 Mazda CX-30 Just Got More Fuel-Saving Power

2023 Mazda CX-30: What’s new?
The 2023 Mazda CX-30 gained power, has an improved fuel economy, and got even safer. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder Skyactiv engine cranks out 191 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. This is an increase of five horses.
You can upgrade to the 2.5-liter turbo engine for up to 250 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. It needs premium fuel to achieve those figures. With regular gas, it provides 227 hp.
Plus, Mazda shared that the engine achieves an enhanced performance and a better fuel economy thanks to updated cylinder deactivation technology. The CX-30 gets an EPA-estimated 26 mpg in the city, up to 33 mpg on the highway, and 29 mpg combined.
Each model and configuration improved by at least two miles per gallon across the board. Also, premium fuel isn’t required to save fuel.
The CX-30 is an Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ award winner for 2022. The 2023 model was updated to comply with new IIHS protocols.
It added rear-seat side airbags and rear-seat seatbelt pre-tensioners. Also, the B-Pillar and C-Pillars have reportedly been improved to earn a better performance during safety crashes.
Standard safety features include Radar Crusie Control with Stop and Go, Smart Brake Support, Lane-Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and High-Beam Control.
How much does the Mazda CX-30 cost?
The 2023 Mazda CX-30 price starts at $22,950, and the turbo models kick things off at around $33,800. This is excellent news because it represents a minor price bump, while competitors are going up by thousands.
But keep in mind, these prices do not include the $1,275 destination fee or dealership markups.
You can get started with the 2022 model for about $22,500, so the updated model only went up by $450. Plus, plenty of value is included with the price.
For example, each model comes with the Mazda i-Active all-wheel drive system to enhance its dynamic performance. It continuously monitors weight distribution to shift power to the appropriate wheels to provide an instant response to driver inputs.
Also, each Mazda CX-30 model is equipped with G-Vectoring Control Plus and Off-Road Traction Assist. This provides a more athletic performance and provides more control during slippery conditions.
Did the CX-30 get updated tech?
The 2023 Mazda CX-30 still uses the same 8.8-infotianment display that’s controlled with a rotary dial. It comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Plus, the 7.0-inch LCD digital gauge cluster features attractive graphics.
You can opt for adaptive headlights, a power liftgate, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, paddle shifters, blind-spot warning, a 360-degree camera display, parking sensors, and a head-up display with traffic sign recognition.
