The Nissan GT-R is back for 2023

A recent Nissan press release announced that the 2023 Nissan GT-R is “on sale now.” However, the bad news is that not all U.S. Nissan dealers will have it. The Nissan GT-R is available in two grades, capable of “thrilling performance on the street and track,” according to Nissan. 

Both GT-R grades employ a 3.8-liter V6 with twin turbochargers backed by a dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission complete with paddle shifters. In addition, Nissan engineers use an “Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All-terrain” with “Electronic Torque Split” (ATTESA E-TS). The ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system monitors each wheel’s speed through numerous sensors and adjusts torque and power to each wheel to improve traction and drivability. 

Nissan engineers worked with Brembo to design a braking system with six-piston front brake calipers and four-piston calipers on the rear. In addition, an “expertly tuned independent double-wishbone front and independent multi-link rear suspension” enhance the GT-R’s ride and handling.

Standard features on both grades include a “driver-adjustable shock-absorber system” by Bilstein, forged alloy 15-spoke 20-inch wheels by Rays, and a “multi-function display that shows vehicle performance information.” An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system features NissanConnect, Apple CarPlay, and an 11-speaker Bose audio system. In addition, the GT-R features a quiet, comfortable cabin enhanced by a dual-zone automatic climate control system and “Active Noise Cancellation.” 

2023 Nissan GT-R Premium specs

Nissan lists the base price of the 2023 Nissan GT-R Premium at $113,540. In the Premium version, the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine tune delivers 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque. In addition, design elements inside the GT-R’s cabin push it toward luxury sport coupe status with Nappa leather upholstery adorning the dash and lightweight seats, heated front seats, and standard front and rear parking sensors.

2023 Nissan GT-R Nismo specs

With a starting price of $210,740, the 2023 Nissan GT-R NISMO screams for serious track time. The GT-R NISMO takes the Premium grade and improves nearly every aspect that needs improvement. For starters, the GT-R NISMO uses the same 3.8-liter V6 as the Premium, except it gets its twin-turbo system from Nissan’s GT3 racecar and pushes the horsepower to 600 and torque to 481 lb-ft. Other racecar tech present on the GT-R NISMO include:

These hi-tech body panels increase the GT-R NISMO’s aerodynamics and direct airflow to provide “increased component cooling.” Finishing out the racecar aesthetic, Recaro seats featuring “synthetic suede inserts, red stitching, and an Alcantara-appointed steering wheel with a red top-stripe” punctuate the interior. 

Which 2023 Nissan GT-R grade is suitable for you?

Picking the most suitable grade 2023 Nissan GT-R depends on how you plan to use the car. Are you interested in a daily-driver luxury sport coupe with supercar performance that performs well on the occasional track day?
